HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK!
TRANSITIONAL ENGLISH VISIT
Transitional English students met with artists Amir Tabatabaei and Niloufar Keyhani to visit and discuss the newly opened "I See a Dream" mural in Watertown Square. Students made connections between the imagery in the mural to the concepts they've been studying in class about the purpose of borders.
WINTER SKATING
The Expedition Club celebrated the solstice with a skating trip in Kendall Square. It was very cold, it was very dark, and it was very fun.
ALUMNI VISIT
On Friday, 12/22, three WHS graduates from the Class of 2023 visited our AP Biology class. The former students were Gaya Badalyan, Shannon Fitzpatrick, and Alyce Judge. These graduates are currently studying at UMass Amherst, RPI, and Northeastern University, respectively. They spoke with our biology students about their experiences serving as summer interns at Enanta Pharmaceuticals, a Watertown biotech company, that has partnered with WHS on numerous initiatives to support our students and help them learn more about STEM career pathways. The guest speakers also answered questions about their first-semester college experiences. Thanks so much for visiting Gaya, Shannon, and Alyce!
