Invest Like a Woman: How to Make Wise Financial Decisions - Recap

We had a great turnout on January 26 for this event. Our speaker gave a great presentation on strategies for investing in our future, resources to help us with our investments, educated us on some new rules for investing in 529 plans and answered a lot of our questions. Everyone who attended walked away feeling a little more confident in moving forward with their investments.

Thank you to Schemmer for sponsoring our meal and hosting this event in their newly remodeled office in Omaha.

Thank you to our speaker, David Pezzella, a certified financial planner with Columbia Threadneedle Investments and Michael Quinn, a wealth advisor with Ameriprise Financial, for taking the time to help us all with our financial questions.

Engineers Week: February 22 – 28, 2026 Engineers Week: February 22 – 28, 2026

Engineers Week is a time for you to:

· Celebrate how engineers make a difference in our world

· Add your voice to the conversation about the need for engineers and technicians

· Engage students in engineering

Why Engineers Week Matters

Engineers Week (February 22─28, 2026) is more than a celebration of a profession—it’s a movement to show young people that engineering is creative, collaborative, and most importantly, open to everyone. When students see how engineering can make a real difference—and when they see people who look like them in those roles—they begin to believe: this could be my future, too.
