Notes from the Principal's Desk
HELLO....My name is Sam Kantrowitz, a.k.a. “Mr. K.” and I have been in education for over 25 years. I began teaching in Florida and then moved to Wilmington where I have worked at Williston Middle School, served as Assistant Principal at Murrayville Elementary & Myrtle Grove Middle, Principal of College Road Early Childhood Center and the past 9+ years as Principal of Pine Valley. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pa. and “yes” I am a very big Steelers fan and Pirates fan. My wife who is a special education teacher, and I have 3 boys…ages 22, 19, and 12 (who also has the honor of being the first baby born in Wilmington, January 1, 2014) and a daughter who is in the 5th grade.
I am honored to be named the Principal of such an incredible group of teachers, students, and families that make up this wonderful school and I look forward to getting to know all of our families that are a part of this amazing community. Noble Middle School has a long history of being a distinguished school and is very proud of all their Students and Teachers. Noble Eagles have enjoyed success over the many years; we will continue to grow and have tremendous academic gains.
It is going to be an exciting year with lots of incredible things to learn, creative projects, and new friends to be made. We are fortunate to have your child(ren) here and cannot wait to see the students showing off all their talents. As always, we encourage you to become an active member of our school community. The most important thing you can do is take an active role in your child’s learning.
If you have questions about anything, please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime… stop by my office, my door is always open. Get to know the school and partner with us through the middle school journey. We are looking forward to an awesome year, and we know we are going to soar to new heights.

Notes from Nurse Stephanie
When to Use Ice Packs
Acute (new) soft-tissue injuries such as twisted ankles, sprained wrists, bruises, or muscle strains—especially within the first 48 hours—to reduce swelling, pain, and inflammation.
Head bumps with swelling or visible bruising.
Minor joint or muscle pain after overuse (e.g., after PE class) to ease inflammation or spasms.
- Insect bites or stings, for temporary relief of swelling and itching
When Not to Use Ice
Minor bumps without swelling or pain—routine ouchies that don’t need icing.
Older injuries (larger than 48 hours old with no swelling).
Conditions requiring medical care: suspected fractures, open wounds, circulation issues, or nerve injuries—refer for evaluation instead.
Purpose of Ice in School Setting
Reduces blood flow (vasoconstriction) to limit swelling and bruising.
Numbs the area, providing temporary pain relief and comfort.
Quick, safe intervention that supports classroom return if no further treatment is needed.
6th Grade Eye Exams
It is time for the 6th‑grade eye exams. If you would like your child to be screened, please complete the consent form in Infinite Campus by 10/30/26. Eye exams will be conducted the week of 11/2/26.
