Dear DMS Families,
It was another wonderful week of learning at DMS. Students engaged in a variety of exciting learning experiences across all subject areas and grade levels. In science, they explored different blood types and examined how animal adaptations help species survive in their environments. Our math lessons focused on mastering ratios, decimals, and simplifying mathematical expressions, giving students valuable practice in applying these skills to real-world situations. In English Language Arts, students strengthened their writing by reviewing the correct usage of commas and practiced identifying dependent and independent clauses within complex sentences. Meanwhile, in social studies, they learned about the rich history of the Persian Empire, and they investigated the unique physical features of Australia. Itβs been a productive and engaging week of learning!
Last but not least, we would like to wish our cheerleaders and football players who are attending Nationals the best of luck. We are so proud of you!
Warmly,
Dr. Cheryl Leandro, Principal cleandro@drregional.org
Mr. Sean Kinney, Assistant Principal skinney@drregional.org

An Important Announcement regarding DMS Sporting Events
The administrative team will pick certain home games that all students are welcome to stay and cheer their friends on. We welcome all students to stay after school on December 8th to cheer on our basketball teams as they face Westport. We hope to see everyone there!
For other games:
We want to take this opportunity to remind families that DMS students are more than welcome to return to DMS to watch their friends play basketball/baseball/softball. However, they should take their regularly scheduled transportation home and return for the game if they would like to watch.
Games do not begin until 3:15/3:30 p.m., and school staff is not always after school to monitor students between the end of the day and the game. With that, it is important to note that school staff is also not always in attendance at soccer/softball/baseball games, so it is recommended that students come to the game with an adult.
