Accreditation: A Commitment to Excellence at St. Luke’s
At St. Luke’s Episcopal School, we believe that excellence is not a destination—it’s a continuous journey of reflection, growth, and renewal. One of the most meaningful ways we live out this belief is through our dual accreditation with both the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) and the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools (SAES).
Accreditation is far more than a seal of approval—it is a rigorous, multi-year process that holds schools accountable to the highest standards of educational quality, governance, and mission alignment. Through this process, we demonstrate our commitment to providing a program that is academically challenging, spiritually grounded, and deeply aligned with our Episcopal identity and core values.
Every ten years, accredited schools engage in a comprehensive self-study that examines every aspect of school life—from teaching and learning to leadership, finance, facilities, and community culture. This reflection culminates in a peer review visit from an accreditation team made up of independent school leaders from across the region. These educators bring their experience and insight to affirm our strengths, challenge us with thoughtful questions, and help us envision what’s possible in the next chapter of St. Luke’s story.
We are proud to share that St. Luke’s Episcopal School holds accreditation from both ISAS and SAES—one of only two schools in San Antonio to hold this distinction. This dual accreditation affirms our identity as both a rigorous academic institution and a faith-based community guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Episcopal tradition.
From November 9–12, we will welcome a 13-member accreditation team to our campus as they visit classrooms, meet with faculty, staff, parents, and students, and engage in meaningful conversations about our school’s mission, culture, and future. Their visit represents an exciting opportunity to celebrate all that makes St. Luke’s special—our talented teachers, our joyful students, and our supportive community—and to reflect on how we can continue to grow in excellence and faith.
At St. Luke’s, we hold ourselves to the highest standards because our students—and our mission—deserve nothing less. Accreditation reminds us that the best schools are those that never stop learning, improving, and striving to serve their communities with purpose and integrity.
We look forward to sharing more about our reaccreditation journey in the weeks ahead and to welcoming our visiting team with the warmth and hospitality that define The St. Luke’s Way.

Good Samaritan Holiday Bag Drive Donations
In the spirit of serving others and in gratitude for our many blessings, St. Luke’s Church & School is collecting food items for families supported by Good Samaritan Community Services. Good Sam serves as a catalyst for change, supporting youth and families on the west side of San Antonio by providing services to overcome economic poverty.
Please notice what your grade level is asked to donate. If you would like to donate monetarily you may send a check (made out to St. Luke’s School) or cash in an envelope labeled “Good Sam” with your child. You may also drop it off at the front desk.
All Saints Day Chapel - Nov. 3
You’re invited to an all-school chapel as we remember and celebrate all the saints—past and present—who have shared their God-given gifts in forming the Body of Christ.
In 1 Corinthians 12:4–14, Paul reminds us that although there are many kinds of gifts, they all come from the same Spirit. As a school community, we will give thanks for the saints—those we love but see no longer, as well as those living among us—who help point us to God by sharing their gifts with the world.
In preparation for this special chapel, students will decorate small boxes during Bible class and Advisory. Students will honor the saints in their lives by writing their names and the spiritual gifts they’ve shared on their boxes. Students are also welcome to bring a small (3x3) copy of a photo of a loved one or pet who has passed away to place on or inside their box.
On Nov 3, students will carry their decorated boxes into chapel and place them around the altar as part of our celebration.
Veterans Day Chapel - Nov. 11
Students are invited to bring veteran family members to chapel to honor their service. Veteran family members are invited to join the procession into chapel with their student, following the cross. If a veteran is unable to attend, the student may hold a photo for the procession. There will be assigned seats for students and their veteran family members.
RSVP here if you are bringing a veteran family member and to submit a photo of your veteran
