Dear Highlander Families:

Next week will be a busy one on campus with our 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony on Thursday at 6 pm. Details about the event are posted in this newsletter for those families who will be attending.

On Monday at lunch, our counseling team will have Mental Health Awareness activities in the MPR. All students are welcome to check out the mindfulness activities and the prizes we have to give away to those who participate. The library will be closed after school starting Thursday and will be closed after school for the remainder of the year. We have a minimum day next Friday with dismissal at 12:25 pm, breakfast will be served before school, and lunch items will be served during snack. There will be no food service after school.

• 8th Grade Awards Assembly - Thursday, May 22nd at 8:30 am - parents will be able to sign their student out at the end of the awards ceremony.

• Students report at 5:15 pm
• Handicap Access to seating at 5:25 pm - please come to the front gate to line up
• Front Gates Open at 5:30 pm - Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. The school has seating for 3 guests per student.
• Ceremony Begins - 6 pm

The Hewes staff is recognizing HIGHLANDERS “H” FOR A DAY AWARD! Highlander for a Day is a program at Hewes Middle School that celebrates students for incredible moments in the areas of Respect, Responsibility, and Results.

The last day the library will open after school will be on Wednesday, May 21st. The library will remain open before school until the last day on May 30th.
