MOHI Girls Varsity Soccer End Season on a High Note
Two weeks ago, the girls soccer team rebounded from a loss to defeat Northglenn High School 11-1. Top scorer, Cami Ayandele, got a “double hatty” scoring 6 of the eleven goals. She shared the love with other teammates including All Star Sophia Stalter, Renate H, and Lexi S. We welcomed back senior goalkeeper Maddie who held things down in net thanks to the defensive effort of our back line. Ainsley C showed out in midfield and Sania G. had several assists.
Tuesday 4/30, the girls traveled to Prarie View High School and crushed it once again. They defeated the Thunderhawks 10-2. Sophia S scored 3 goals, Cami Ayandele scored 5 goals, Lexi S and Ava H each hit bangers for goals also. Cami’s 5th goal was an Olympico! She scored off of a corner by nailing the back post. Both keepers, Maddie and Millie, got solid playing time and Maddie assisted one of our goals!
Senior night the team played a tough Poudre Valley team. Seniors were honored with a heartfelt celebration that left many of our players and spectators in tears. The event let our supporters see how tight, trusting and inspirational these young women are as a team and human beings. The Seniors did not disappoint and fielded all but one position of the starting line up. Our dynamic duo Sofia S and Cami A relentlessly attacked the Poudre Impalas defensive line with support from Renate H when rest was needed. Lexi F, Kalle P and Lucy Ruh held down a tight defense. Appearances by Sammy and Ellie rounded out the D. Lucy “Bob” was able to log a few minutes in midfield despite injury. Natalie S and Kiki worked both the midfield and defense. Kiki’s throw ins helped us march down the field with width. Up and comers Sania and Paloma supported the senior midfielders including Ainsley C. Piper, always consistent on defense, scored a sniper to round out Cami’s 2 goals. Maddie and Millie guarded the net against a solid shooting squad. The game ended in a 3-4 loss but was one of the best played games of the season. Many thanks to our coaches Katy and Mark and all the parents, family and friends that supported this talented team.
Girls Tennis Faces Good Competition at Regionals
Girls tennis had an exciting end to their season on Friday during regionals!
There were some intense matches against formidable opponents like Fairview, Legacy, Thunder Ridge, and Denver East. Playing #1 singles, Ishani Pandey played three grueling matches, 2 of which went to 3 sets. Pandey finished third, narrowly missing a berth in the State Championships. Playing #3 singles, Duda Almeida defeated Lakewood in the first round and then fell to Denver East in 3 long sets (6-7, 7-6, 6-2) to take fourth. Chloe Bufkin and Mackenzie Bergeson defeated Lakewood in 3 tough sets but then fell to Thunder Ridge, also taking fourth.
Congratulations on a great season and we're looking forward to having most of the team return next year!

MOHI Baseball Goes 2 up, 2 down
Yotes baseball picked up good victories over Erie and Boulder last week.
On Monday, the team hosted Erie and put together a solid win, 9-2. Charlie Pearce started on the bump and provided the type of consistency the program has come to expect from this talented Junior. Pearce went six innings, giving up two runs, walking two, and striking out nine! At the dish, Christian Mittleman and Riley Hall set the table, each picking up two hits and two RBI.
Tuesday brough Legacy to Mohi. The Yotes gave up 13 runs, but only five earned.
Thursday the team traveled to Boulder to take on the Panthers on their turf. The Yotes owned the day though, bringing home a 9-1 win. L Resch provided a quality start, going fiving innings and giving up just the one run. Clay Hafner led led the offense with three RBI and Mittleman contributed another three hits to add to his strong season.
Saturday the team was at Fairview and dropped a tough game, 8-3.

At the recent JV Championships at Longmont HS, Cara Miscio won the 100m and 200m. And Katherine Ryan won the high jump.
At the Roughrider Invitational a few days later over 40 teams participated and battled in windy conditions. Our winners were TJ Rowan for pole vault and Maren Holocek for girls 100m and 200m.
The Front Range League Championships had 16 teams competing for league bragging rights over this 2 day competition. TJ Rowan won the pole vault with a double PR day, ending up with the win at 16' 5.5" (5.01 meters) and the facility record. This jump puts TJ back into the top 20 nationally. Maren Holecek won the 100m and 200m. And special shout out to Eva Bebber who set a new school record in the discus of 108' 10".

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
The Booster Club is run by a FUN group of volunteers who are passionate about helping to create an amazing high school experience for our students! We love and need volunteers to pull it off.
- Membership Coordinator: The Membership Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating between clubs, teams, groups, and community members that would like to join or benefit from the MOHI Booster Club.
- Cave Coordinator: The Cave Coordinator helps to ensure that our wonderful swag shack stays updated with the latest and greatest MOHI apparel.
- Sponsorship Coordinator: This position requires attention before the start of the school year, typically in July: emails, phone calls, and general community outreach to entice local businesses to become sponsors. Most of your time required is during July, August & September, and the physical maintenance of the banners throughout the school year.
If you are passionate about supporting our students and fostering community connections, we invite you to apply for these integral roles in enhancing MOHI’s school's programs and initiatives. We would like to have people fill these roles before May 1. Please contact monarchboosterclub@gmail.com to learn more!
