Vandalism Causing Damage to School Fields Vandalism Causing Damage to School Fields

We’ve seen a recent increase in vandalism on our school fields, particularly at the middle schools. We’re making families aware of the issue as much of the damage appears to be linked to youth riding e-bikes.

E-bike burnouts are creating holes and ruts on turf fields and track surfaces. These incidents result in costly repairs and have forced some PE classes to relocate.

While the high school track and fields are locked after hours, other school fields remain open. We remind the public that e-bikes and motorbikes are not allowed on school fields and that all users must follow posted hours of operation.

Thanks for helping us to keep our school fields safe, well-maintained and accessible for students and the community.

Help Your Teen Build Strong Attendance

Missing just one or two days a month can add up to nearly 10% of the school year, putting students at risk—even when absences are excused. Consistent attendance is key to success in middle and high school.

Tips for Families:

  • Schedule appointments outside school hours or during breaks.

  • Keep your teen home only when they’re truly sick.

  • Have a back-up plan for getting to school if something unexpected happens.

  • Talk with your teen about why showing up every day matters.

  • Contact the school if you notice changes in behavior or need support.

  • Keep your contact information up to date.

  • If your teen is absent, notify the school by replying to the ParentSquare notice, calling, emailing, or sending a written note.

Every day in class helps your teen stay on track for graduation and future goals.
