Principal Barrera's Notes
Week #1
A Great First Week!
We had a great first week of school! Our students did an amazing job learning and adjusting to our new campus processes and procedures. We know that the beginning of a new school year brings many changes, and we are incredibly proud of how quickly our students adapted.
Thank you to our families for your patience, support, and partnership as we worked together to get the year off to a successful start. We are excited about the year ahead!
We are excited to share some great news! Holmes/NSITE has earned a B rating as designated by the State of Texas! This achievement reflects the significant academic gains our students made in just one school year and is a powerful indication of the incredible potential of our Huskies. We are proud of the hard work, dedication, and commitment that made this progress possible. As we begin this new school year, we will continue to push forward and upward, building on this momentum and striving for even greater success. A heartfelt thank you to our students, staff, families, and everyone who played a part in this achievement. This accomplishment belongs to all of us, and we are excited about what lies ahead. Lunch Area Reminders
We have adequate indoor seating available for all students during lunch. Students may also choose to enjoy their lunch outdoors. We will continue adding outdoor tables and seating to provide additional options for students throughout the year.
As a reminder, food deliveries to students are not permitted during the school day. This includes deliveries from family/guardians, restaurants or food-delivery services.
Parents who would like to take their child to lunch may sign their student out through the Attendance Office and leave campus for lunch. For safety and supervision purposes, students may not remain on campus and eat lunch in a parked vehicle.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, organized, and enjoyable lunch environment for all of our students.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up Reminders
As we continue to improve the flow of traffic during arrival and dismissal, we ask all families to please keep the following important reminders in mind:
Pedestrian Safety: Pedestrians have the right-of-way at crosswalks. Drivers are required by law to stop and allow pedestrians to safely cross. Failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk may result in a traffic citation. Please remain alert, drive slowly, and help us keep our students, families, and staff safe.
Front Circle Traffic: There are two lanes when driving through the front circle. To help minimize traffic backups:
- The left lane is a continuous movement lane and should remain moving.
- The right lane is designated for student drop-off and pick-up.
Please do not stop or wait in the left lane or in the single lane of the circle. Following this traffic pattern will help keep vehicles moving and make arrival and dismissal safer and more efficient for everyone.
