September 28- October 2nd

Dear Mission Middle School Families,

We are seeing an increase in student tardies to class. When students are late to class they interrupt their learning, the learning of others and teachers being able to teach. Students have three minutes to get from class to class, this is plenty of time if they are taking the most direct route to their class. Some of the behaviors that are slowing students down: visiting the in large groups and not moving down the hallways, visiting bathrooms multiple times , not bringing all materials to their classroom, and not taking the most direct route to their next class.

For communication purposes with students and families:

When students meet tardy thresholds here our the building wide consequences.

3 tardies- Lunch Detention

5 tardies- After school Detention

7 tardies- In School Suspension

9 tardies- Build a plan with guardians, student and staff for an alternate passing period or adult escort to classes.
