Dear Trail Blazer Community
National Spanish Honor Society/ Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica
Attention 9th, 10th, and 11th graders!
If you are currently in Spanish and have completed 3 semesters of Spanish or more, The National Spanish Honor Society/ Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is accepting applications online for the 2024-2025 school year. Current members do not need to re-apply. Please fill out this application by January 24th, at 5:00 PM.
Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH) is not a club and requires an application to review that candidates meet requirements. Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is not linked to other honor societies at LTHS. All honor societies operate separately from each other. Membership of one does *not* assume membership of the other. The deadline to submit the full application is January 24th at 5PM, to be considered.

Student Extended Absences (vacation or otherwise)
FISD policy does NOT permit students to 'work ahead' or to get missed work from teachers prior to the planned absences. Students who remain enrolled, will receive the grade earned; a zero for the remaining grades will be assigned and upon return the student can work with teachers to get missing work submitted within a reasonable time frame and teachers can then submit a grade change form if applicable. It is the student’s responsibility to meet with the teacher and turn in missing work or make up missed assessments upon return to campus.
Students who are considered truant (will have accrued more than ten unexcused absences for days or parts of days within a six-month period including the days that will be missed at the end of the year) will be subject to truancy prevention measures and the possibility of being referred to truancy court.
Students who fall below 75 % attendance in any course will be denied credit.
