DOUGLAS GARDENS ELEMENTARY HOME OF THE MUSTANGS

From the Principal From the Principal

Dear Douglas Gardens Families,

It is our goal at Douglas Gardens to educate the whole child which means we focus on both academic and social development. Staff at Douglas Gardens work diligently to teach not only academic content area, but social emotional curriculum as well. Teachers use explicit lessons to teach appropriate behavior in all locations of our building. When we see students following those expectations, we recognize their efforts with a Mustang Moment. Once a week, we hold a drawing to give prizes to students who have won Mustang Moments. We are very grateful for our wonderful and supportive families and their students. We love the enthusiasm that the students come to school with every day. We are grateful for our hardworking and dedicated staff who put in endless hours each week, to be ready to teach, support, guide and encourage students as they learn and grow. On behalf of the staff at Douglas Gardens, I want to wish you the best of the Winter Season.

Parents/Guardians - When calling the school to report your child's absence, please use the "Attendance" option. When leaving the message , remember to include the following: Student's first and last name, Classroom teacher's name and the nature of the absence. If the reason for the absence is an illness, please leave a description of the illness. Many parents are leaving a message stating their student is "sick" and no other information. When no details are given regarding the nature of the illness, we will need to return a call home for additional information.
