Hello Bulldog Families.

I hope everyone has been enjoying the warm up that we’ve been having this week. The beautiful sunshine was quite welcome!

In last week’s newsletter, we mentioned all of the important February 13th events taking place at BHS. For reference, all of these are noted below. Also, the link to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences has been included. We hope you will sign up to meet with your student’s teachers. They are here to collaborate with you to make sure your student’s needs are met.

On March 18th, BHS students will be engaging in a variety of College/Career Exploratory options. On this day, juniors will have the option to take the state-funded ACT test and sophomores will be taking the LEAP ACT Diagnostics Test. If you are a parent of a sophomore, you will receive your student’s LEAP ACT Diagnostics Lens Report and will have the option to join an informative webinar on March 31st. Please see the link below to register. You can also register via the QR Code that is noted in the flyer below.

We hope everyone has a restful weekend. We look forward to welcoming our students back on Monday!

In service to our Bulldogs.

The FAFSA is available now!!!!

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2025-26 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are at least eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!

The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the U.S. Department of Education has announced that the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov. Visit itsforyou.org and scroll to the “Looking for FAFSA help?” section for details. Let’s ensure no money is left on the table!

Updated Scholarship List:

Another option to look at opportunities for additional funding for college is by applying for scholarships. BHS Guidance updates this list regularly as new scholarships are shared with us. Here is a link to the most recent list that is shared with all seniors. There are A LOT of new scholarships that have been added!

Great Oaks Open House Dates & Information for BHS 10th Grade Students

Great Oaks presented program options to all BHS sophomore students in November. Each student was given a catalog with information about Great Oaks programs at all of the campuses and about the timeline and procedure to apply to Great Oaks. All sophomores visited Live Oaks on January 24th to shadow two programs.

The Great Oaks application link is now open - the priority application deadline is February 4th! For more information, or the online application, go to GreatOaks.Com

LINKED UP Connect

We would like for ALL Juniors and Seniors to have accounts with Linked Up Connect as soon as possible. Parents, please sign the Linked Up Connect permission form located in Final Forms. As soon as we have the signature we can begin the process of giving you access to many opportunities such as experienceships, job shadowing, and potential internships and apprenticeship opportunities. Please see Mrs. Laudenberger or Mrs. Kelley if you have any questions.

Upcoming College Rep Visits to BHS

Marshall University 2/4/25

University of Alabama 2/20/25

These rep visits are set up for Juniors and Seniors to get more information about colleges they may be interested in attending. Students can sign up in Naviance, or email their counselor if they would like to attend.
