Welcome Back to School Flyer

Families, we appreciate your support in helping students come to school ready to learn each day. One important part of that preparation is arriving with a fully charged Chromebook.

When Chromebooks are charged completely each night, they should have enough battery life to last throughout the school day. Please help your student build the routine of plugging in their Chromebook each evening and bringing both the Chromebook and charger to school when needed.

If your student needs a replacement charger or their Chromebook is not holding a charge properly, please have them visit our librarian so we can troubleshoot the issue and get them the support they need.

Having a charged and working Chromebook helps protect instructional time and ensures students are ready to participate fully in learning especially in our Amplify Math program as it has interactive lessons on the computer. Research on cell phones and learning for middle schoolers has shown that phone use distract learners. There are studies that indicated it lowers academic performance. When students have access to cell phones, they will still check them often which causes a distracted learner. At Green Acres, our no-phone policy removes these interruptions so that kids can focus, learn more, and build face to face connections during the school day. A distracted learner can not fully demonstrate their Ambitiousness. At Green Acres we believe our students have HEART for learning!
