MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS

Dear Eagles,

This weekend we had the distinct pleasure of witnessing a truly remarkable event: our JROTC Military Ball. It was a night of elegance, pride, and heartfelt celebration. Seeing our cadets, their families, and our dedicated instructors come together was a powerful reminder of the strength and unity within our school community. The ball celebrated the achievements of our cadets while highlighting the incredible perseverance of our JROTC students, their dedication to acquiring valuable early college and career credits, and the unwavering commitment of our JROTC instructors. This event served as a beautiful testament to the power of family and community engagement, and I am immensely proud of all who participated.

However, as I reflect on the positive aspects of our school community, I must also address some serious concerns. Recent incidents of disruptive behavior, horseplaying, harassment, fighting, and other acts of misconduct within our school building are unacceptable. These behaviors not only disrupt the learning environment but also compromise the safety and well-being of our entire student body. Let me be unequivocally clear: these actions will not be tolerated. Thus, I encourage parents to partner with us in our efforts to remind students to conduct themselves appropriately - with decency and self-respect. While we believe in a restorative approach to discipline, continued misconduct will be met with consequences.

Specifically, I want to address the upcoming spring pep rally, an event that promises to be a highlight of our school year. We have secured DJ Hot Rod and are working to confirm 1-2 special guests from the music industry to provide another unforgettable experience. However, the privilege of participating in this event is contingent upon responsible behavior. Any student involved in persistent acts of misconduct will be excluded from the spring pep rally. This is not a threat; it is a promise. We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment for all Eagles. We believe in providing opportunities for celebration and enjoyment, but these opportunities must be earned through responsible conduct.

I expect our Eagles to lead by example, demonstrating integrity and respect in all actions. I urge each of you to reflect on your behavior and make a conscious effort to uphold our Belief pillars. We are a strong community. Let us demonstrate that strength through positive actions and unwavering commitment to our shared beliefs.

Onward and upward,

~Principal Banks
