Today's Mass!
In today's homily, Fr. Jerry explained that Jesus dreams that we may all be one as he is with the Father. We have a significant spiritual impact on others, both positively and negatively. Although, our private actions have an impact on everyone we encounter.
"May they all be one as you, Father, are in me and I in you,
that the world may believe that you sent me, says the Lord."
John 17:21

Cultivating Quiet in a Noisy World
by: Mrs Sarah Eschrich
The four parts are:
- Breath
- 1st Read: Comprehension
- 2nd Read: Reflection
- Silence
The girls practiced Lectio Divina on 1 Kings 11-13 (NABRE). In this passage:
- Elijah went up and stood on the mountaintop by himself
- God's voice is gentle, not forceful
- Unlike the wind, earthquakes, and time, God's voice is not destructive
- Although God's voice is a whisper, he is more powerful than the greatest natural disasters. Thus Elijah must hide his face because he is in the presence of a strong God
We are called to silence:
- Christ himself was fasting in the desert for 40 days alone
- The Psalms state "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 43)
- The Saints: Elijah, Samuel, and St Theresa of Avila
Mountaintop Silence (silent meditation) vs. Valley Quietude (replacing noise)
- Mountaintop Silence:
- Lectio Divina
- Jesus Prayer/ Hail Mary
- Rosary
- Adoration
- Valley Quietude:
- Podcast Drive--> Rosary Drive
- monitoring interior dialogue
- chore can be done in a quiet form
- "3 screen entertainment"--> no entertainment
"The prayer of a Christian is never a monologue" -St. Josemaria
