The Siegrist Star
WEEK OF September 7, 2026
🖐️ Got Character High Five Fridays!
Today, we continued one of our favorite Siegrist traditions—Got Character High Five Friday! 💙
Since 2005, Pirates ROCK (Raising Outstanding Character Kids) has helped build a strong culture of character throughout the Platte County School District. Beginning this school year, the district is building on that tradition by connecting Pirates ROCK with the Portrait of a Graduate essential skills that help prepare our students for success in school, work, and life.
We were excited to welcome students from Platte County High School this morning! They greeted our Siegrist students with big smiles, high fives, and lots of positive energy to help everyone start the day on the right foot. 🖐️😊
After the morning welcome, our high school students joined several classrooms for morning meetings. They spent time talking with our students and helping them learn more about the essential skills that make up the Platte County Portrait of a Graduate.
A BIG thank you to our High School Got Character students for being such wonderful role models and spreading positivity throughout Siegrist! We appreciate you helping us continue to build a strong, character-driven Pirate community! 🏴☠️💙

🍎 Lunch Visitors Begin September 8th!
We’re excited to welcome families back for lunch visits beginning Tuesday, September 8th! We love having you join your student for this special part of their day.
Before You Visit
- Sign up before arriving using the lunch visitor Sign Up Genius link. This helps us plan for our limited front hallway seating.
- Visitors must be listed in PowerSchool or have parent/guardian permission provided to the office before the visit.
- Please bring a state-issued photo ID and check in at the front office when you arrive. You will receive a visitor sticker that must be worn while on campus.
- Please check your child's lunch time before coming.
A Few Friendly Reminders
- Due to limited seating, no more than 2 adult visitors per student, please.
- Parents may bring outside food for themselves and their child.
- Only your child may sit with you during lunch—no friends, please.
- After lunch, parents should not return to the classroom or join their child at recess.
- If you need to visit with your child's teacher, please contact the office to schedule a time. Our teachers have a short lunch break and need that time to take care of their own lunch and other responsibilities.
Didn't get signed up? No worries! If you arrive without a reservation, we’ll add you if space is available. If we’re full, we’ll help you sign up for another day, and you can still leave the lunch for your student.
Questions? Give our office a call—we’re happy to help!
International Dot Day!
International Dot Day is Wednesday, Sept. 16. It is a day that encourages creativity based on the story, The Dot, by Peter Reynolds and allows kids (and adults) to understand how they can impact the world. Help us celebrate this fun day by wearing polka dots on Sept. 16!!! Feel free to be creative with this (as
long as it remains school appropriate) or just wear something with dots. We plan to read the book and make a dot project in library class the week before.

Parent Reminders
Celebrations and Birthdays
We believe it is important for the school to recognize our students on their birthday and other special days. However, for several reasons including increased food allergies and preservation of the instructional day, students are not allowed to bring treats from home or have flowers/balloons or other items delivered to the classroom for birthdays, going-away parties, or other personal events. Each classroom teacher will recognize the student in a special way to celebrate his or her birthday.
If a student receives a delivery at school, the student will be notified to come to the office to view the item. Parents will be responsible for transporting the item home. Birthday party invitations may only be distributed if invitations are given to every student in the class.
Changes to Student Transportation
To make a long-term transportation change, use the form linked here. After you form is completed, please notify the child school to let them know of the change.
All daily request, please notify your student's school office of any address and bus changes by 2pm if possible so arrangements can be made. To ensure that your change is made, please email all three of our Administration Assistance. klopp.annemarie@pcr3schools.org, itao.tracy@pcr3schools.org and mausolf.berenice@pcr3schools.org Thank you!
Thank you for your cooperation in our efforts to transport our students - your children - in a safe and timely manner.
Student safety comes first!
To help ensure the safety of our students, we will no longer be heating student breakfast or lunch meals in the microwave. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep our school community safe.
Watch D.O.G.S. Sign up!
We will be starting our WATCH D.O.G.S. program on September 20th. This is a one-of-a-kind, school-based father involvement program that works to support education and safety. Who are Watch D.O.G.S.?
