Get Ready for Homecoming
Parents, Teachers, and Students,
It's homecoming season and that means everyone has a chance to experience the fun traditions we've built here at Bluffton High starting next Monday, September 29, and culminating in the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 4. All details are listed under "important events".
Students, if you haven't already joined your grade level google classroom, please do so. Counselors and administrative staff use these classrooms to relay important information specific to your graduating year so that it is available to you when you need.
We've noticed an increase in the number of students arriving late for school with fast food or drinks in their hands. Any student arriving tardy with outside food and/or drink in their possession will be asked to consume the item or throw it away before being admitted to class. Mobile food orders and deliveries from outside restaurants are not permitted during the school day. The Student Handbook has been updated to clarify this policy.
Our PTO Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5:00 pm in Room 1120 which is directly across from Guidance. The next meeting is October 21.
Important reminder for all community members who wish to volunteer for activities and school programs with Bluffton High. Unless you are a BCSD employee - you must complete the BCSD volunteer background check. It only takes a few minutes and should be done at least a week prior to the event to allow for processing time. The application is linked here for your convenience.

Bobcats in Action
Hispanic Heritage Highlight
Every morning last week, BLHS students traveled to the Bluffton Elementary Library to read in Spanish. This was a celebration of language and culture that 26 students were able to participate in and earn a total of 41 service hours. We loved it so much we've established a new annual visit.
Junior Leadership 2025-26
This year we also have students participating in Beaufort's Junior Leadership program. Eliza Gray and Morgan Rowe joined their peers for a visit to the Pat Conroy Literary Center. Morgan is also part of the SC 4-H Pinckney Leadership Program and attended the conference this past summer at Clemson University.
Important Events
To further South Carolina's success trajectory, The Military Child Education Coalition is requesting a call to action from our Purple Star School Communities across the state to provide feedback in the Purple Star School Impact Research Study - South Carolina. The intent is to provide state-based data to South Carolina's Purple Star School leaders and stakeholders on an annual basis so that they can modify, develop and maximize the impact of our Purple Star School Program.
Please complete the Purple Star School Impact Study survey by October 1, 2025

To ensure a safe and secure environment at BCSD athletic events, all spectators and athletes entering our venues will be asked to remove hoods or face coverings that obscure one’s identity, such as balaclava-style masks. This practice, which is common at collegiate athletic events, will help us maintain safety by ensuring individuals can be easily identified if needed.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Please reach out to District Athletic Director Dr. Carlos Cave for any questions.
