September Updates
Celebrating a Wonderful September So Far,
What a great start to the school year! Our First Graders had a fantastic time on their library field trip, sparking curiosity and a love for reading. Everyone looked amazing for school picture day—thank you for helping your students look their best! Fall benchmark assessments are progressing well and will be wrapped up soon. We appreciate your ongoing support as we work together to monitor and support student growth.
Panther Prowl Fundraiser Launches This Week:
Our Panther Prowl fundraiser kicks off this week! Fundraiser packets will be sent home with students tomorrow. We will celebrate with a school-wide spirit assembly this Friday to kick off our fundraising. Students will have the opportunity to earn individual prizes daily while supporting their classroom and school-wide goals. Funds raised help support many wonderful PTO-sponsored activities, including:
- Nature Center field trips
- 5th Grade Camp
- Air Zoo and other museum visits for hands-on learning
- Additional instructional supplies for classroom teachers
- School-Wide Carnival
- Literacy Night
- And much more!
Thank you for supporting our learners and school community! Please remember to register your student online for Panther Prowl once packets arrive. Registration is free, and this makes fundraising even easier.
Important Updates and Reminders
-
First Day Shoe Fund: Shoes have arrived. Shoe fitting will take place this Thursday. Most students who signed up should come home with new shoes that day, unless they get a pair that doesn't fit and we have to get a new size.
-
Mobile Dentist and Mobile Health Units: If you want your child to use these services, please sign up ASAP. These units only visit if enough people register. Links to sign up are below.
-
Popcorn Friday: Our first Popcorn Friday is this Friday! Remember to send in 50 cents if your student would like a bag of popcorn.
-
Car Rider Arrival Reminder: For safety, please do not drop students off until you reach the front of the car rider line. We’ve noticed some students being dropped off too far from the entrance, which creates safety concerns. Thank you for helping keep our kids safe!
Thank you again for being such a collaborative community. Here’s to another exceptional week ahead!

Walking Field Trip Form
General Walking Field Trip Form- Panther Prowl & Literacy Parade
- Our district's general Walking Field Trip permission forms were sent home last week.
- Thank you to everyone who has returned them already!
- These forms give students permission to participate in our annual Panther Prowl and Literacy Parade because these both involve walking down the block to Crane Park. The Panther Prowl will take place October 10th and Literacy Parade will be Oct 31st. Also, in the spring many grade levels walked to Crane Park for a picnic celebration at the end of the year.
- We will be making a list of which students have not returned a permission form and reach out before our Panther Prowl.
- If these forms are not returned or permission is not given, families have a few options:
- If parents/guardians do not want students to participate at all in these school wide events that involve walking, they can choose to keep their child home that day or pick them up early.
- If they do want their child to participate, but are hesitant to give permission on this form, they can attend the event and walk with their child. They can also work with the teacher to give written permission on that specific event only.
- I have attached the form below as well.
- Feel free to reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions about the form or about how their class participates in each event. More specific school wide information on each event will be in future newsletters as it gets closer.
