Heart to Heart Math

We just LOVE the ease of this math game! It is low prep and fun to play with your children or for children to play with one another! The game play is simple - player one will simply choose one number from the first small heart, then pick two numbers from the second heart that add to the chosen number from heart one. Play continues with the second player. The game will become more challenging as it goes. The winner is the last player who can successfully find two numbers that add together to make their number.

You can find the game for print by clicking on the photo or create your own! Place the "game board" in a sleeve protector and use whiteboard markers to play over and over.

Mindfulness and Meditation

Winter is a tough time for all of us. There's less sunshine, fewer hours of daylight, we see our friends less often, illnesses are at their peak, not to mention all of the other stressors we have been carrying. It isn't just adults who get the winter-time blues; our children go through the same set of emotions.

It is worth the time to take a minute to practice mindfulness and meditation together. This video from Flocabulary is a fun way to help you and your children understand what mindfulness and meditation do, and lead you through a meditation practice. Click on the photo to take you to the activity. Just breathe!

Trapped in a Snow Globe... Write about it!

What would you do if you were trapped in a snow globe? Would you run in circles looking for a way out? Would you try to catch snowflakes on your tongue? Would you search for a friend, or would you simply snuggle in for a long winter nap? Talk with your family and friends to make a plan for your personal snow globe adventure. Remember, you are only limited by your imagination. Click the link to be directed to a complete snow globe writing plan and activity guide. See you there!
