Message from the Principal
Hello Mustang Families!
October is about consistency and being in school every day. Mustang Scholars are on time, in class, and ready to learn EVERY DAY. If your scholar's positive attendance percentage drops below 90%, attendance letters will be sent. Please respond to the letter with your plan to improve your scholar's attendance.
- Thank you for your Mustang Spirit both Pink Day and Mustang Gear earned scholars 5 Star Rewards.
- Progress Reports are here! We have finished the first quarter of school. Please review your scholar’s grades. On Thursday, 10/17 from 3-6 pm join us for Parent Conferences in the Mustang Auditorium. The auditorium doors for parent conferences will close at 5:45 to enable the remaining parents to have ample time to meet with teachers.
- An excellent next step to support your scholar is to pair your Parent Canvas. Use this short video HERE to pair Parent Canvas to your scholar's Canvas account. Stay connected and help your scholar succeed.
- Celebrate the end of the first quarter with our ASB Goosebumps Movie on Wednesday 10/16 from 1:30 - 3:30pm in the MPR. Tickets will sell out, get them Monday, 10/14 for just $3.
- Reminder Thursday 10/17 & Friday 10/18 are Modified Days - Students released at 12:10 pm.
Thank you for your help in making the Margarita Family so great!
Sincerely,
Mr. Duane Legg
Principal, MMS

Mustangs Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month
This month, our school is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! Our Mustang Library had a variety of engaging activities planned that honor the rich cultures and traditions of Latin countries. Students at MMS were invited to create colorful flags representing their favorite Latin American countries, fostering creativity while learning about the significance of each design.
Additionally, MMS is hosting a fun-filled LoterÃa game, a traditional Mexican game similar to bingo, where students can enjoy learning about cultural symbols with friends.
The Library is also excited to offer a Guatemalan worry doll workshop, where students will learn about this unique tradition and create their own tiny dolls. Be sure to check out the special book displays featuring stories and biographies that celebrate Hispanic heritage, and explore the vibrant decorations in the library that showcase the beauty of Latin cultures. Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
