Message From the Principal
Dear Wildwood Families,
Time has flown! When I walked to school today, I thought about when I first came and how everything was so new. Eight months later, it feels like I’ve been here for years, but in a good way. I believe it’s a testament to how warm and welcoming the community and staff have been in this principal transition and I appreciate it.
We’re trying to keep things as normal as possible at school for our kids; structure and consistency are important for them, so they know what to expect. Classes are still working, finishing up assignments and learning. Karen Gnusti and are collaborating to finish up things at school, meetings, paperwork, hiring, schedules, etc. We both want to set things up for a smooth transition for Amy Fry.
Have a good week!
Beth Rhine

Volunteer for Play Day
Play Day is Coming and We Need a Few More Helpers!
Thank you so much to all of the parents who signed up to help make Play Day a success this year! We are still in need of a few more volunteers, especially for the Set Up, 4th & 5th Grade Play Day, and Break Down time slots. All other time slots need some helpers, too. If you’ve been on the fence about joining us out on the yard for Play Day, consider this a sign from the universe! We’d love to have you. Click here to volunteer at Play Day!
For those who missed the details last week, Play Day will take place on the last day of school, Thursday June 5th. Students in each grade will have 45 minutes out on the yard to participate in various sports, games and activities with their friends at their own pace.
Activity stations are still being finalized, but you can expect activities like basketball, beach ball volleyball, soccer shooting, jump ropes & hula hoops, 4-square, obstacle course, relay races, and, weather permitting, a water game!
Onward and upward,
Ms. Matarazzo
End of Year Notes

CHECK IT OUT
An ending and a beginning, but reading should never stop! Studies continue to prove that summer reading helps your students retain what has been learned during the school year.
Summer checkout for families and eligible 4th graders through the last day of school.
Although we are closed during the summer, you can use this summer as an opportunity to get to know your local branch libraries and librarians. The Oakland Public Library has a reading program (with prizes and activities!).
Our tri-school library website has links to lots of summer activities related to reading. Check out Mr. Alex’s Summer Survival Kit. Electronic books are available all summer long on our catalog website too.
2nd- 5th grade students know how to login with their computer lab user name and their password (numbers, without the WWD) .
We finished our circulation (18,825 items, not counting e-books) for the 2024-25 school year last week! We are concentrating on getting books back from you and your children. Please, please help your student clear their record by getting those books returned, sending a new copy of the lost book or a check made out to the WPC into the library with your student for any book that needs to be replaced (if it is lost or damaged). We will happily refund your payment should the book be discovered over the summer and returned in the fall.
Many, many thanks to our parent and student volunteers. Your help and dedication ensures a smooth library experience for our students, faculty and community.
Happy Summer Reading!

Parents Club Update
It has taken a village to support the many programs and events led this year by volunteers of the Wildwood Parents Club.
From Kinder playdates in the summer to the last collection of Lost & Found items donated to charity, we are proud of WPC’s accomplishments this year, details of which we will report more fully next week.
We are so thankful for everyone’s generosity and participation. Our Wildwood community is as wonderful and as strong as the mighty volunteers who hold it up along the way!
