A NOTE FROM MRS. RIESGRAF
Wow—just like that, two months of school are already behind us! It’s hard to believe how quickly the time has flown. Our students have been working hard to learn, grow, and build new skills here at Pepin Elementary, and their progress has been incredible to watch. I’m sure you’re seeing those same exciting strides at home, too!
Our Character Theme focus of the month - Gratitude
On November 13, our Eagle’s Nest Groups will meet at 2:45 p.m. for an assembly to kick off the month and honor our theme of Gratitude. Our students meet in their assigned group with grades 4k-5 to build relationships and learn more about gratitude. This month, we are grateful to be talking about gratitude. Gratitude means choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives. Can you remember a time when someone did something for you that made your day better or made you feel happy? You probably felt gratitude for that person at that moment. This month, we will learn more about practicing gratitude and expressing it to others. What a perfect time to practice this skill!
Parent/teacher Conferences
Letters are being mailed to all parents of elementary students, inviting you to conferences this month. If you signed up for a specific time at the fall open house, you will receive a confirmation letter. If you did not get a chance to sign up, we will choose a time for you. If you need to change your conference time, please call Angie in the office to make the change. We hope to see you on November 6 or 7.
Trimester 1 comes to an end
The official end date of our trimester is November 14. You will receive your child’s report card via email the week of November 17-21. To celebrate the successful completion of Trimester One, our elementary school will participate in a “Turkey Trot." Mr. Pearson and Mrs. Noel have planned some fun fitness activities we will enjoy. We will be out celebrating/trotting around the football field on November 21. A special thanks to them for setting this up for us to enjoy.
Fruit Sale Updates
The Fruit Sale forms are due on November 4. Please give it to your child’s teacher or turn it into the office. The dollars used from this sale go towards a variety of elementary experiences, such as field trips, recess equipment, and special speakers or events. Some of the funds earned from last year's sale are paying for the K-4 classes to go to a live performance at the Sheldon Theatre in February. Thanks in advance for your support. Pick-up is tentatively scheduled for December 8 at Pepin Lions Club from 3:30-6:30 p.m. A special note of gratitude to Shannon Van Allen for all her hard work on the fruit sale. She oversees all aspects of the sale for our elementary students. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful volunteer.
My wish for you during this busy season is to find time to enjoy the things that you are grateful for this month. I am so grateful to work alongside such amazing staff and students each day.
If I can ever be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to reach out.
My best,
Mrs. Riesgraf
