Last week we hosted current and former staff and board members of the Akron School District for lunch. The Lions Club partnered with the school and provided and cooked some amazing hamburgers and hotdogs. The staff was also treated to desserts from “The Cold Cruiser”, owned by some Akron students. The Chamber of Commerce, represented by Mrs. Lori Baer, presented gift bags to new staff members. Mr. Kevin Hall and Mrs. Kendra Anderson were presented with beautiful retirement clocks and recognized for their great years of service to the district. The microphone was then passed around for everyone in attendance to introduce themselves. Retirees of the district shared some great and funny stories from their times at the school. The conversations continued during and after the meal. It was a great way to cap off our three day staff inservice.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Bank of Colorado for stocking the fridge for our staff! It is very much appreciated!

The school is gearing up for another year and the Akron Athletic Booster Club is ready to support our student athletes! BUT, they cannot do this without the support of our tremendous sponsors, like YOU! Booster club members and student athletes will be promoting Booster Club by going around to businesses on Friday, August 15th.
