Dear Parkway Alumni,

Spring is blooming with momentum here at the Parkway Alumni Association! From funding student dreams outside the classroom, to supporting educators with classroom grants, and honoring our incredible operations staff with the Light of Parkway Awards, this season is full of meaningful moments.

As graduation approaches and we prepare to welcome the Class of 2025 into our alumni family, we’re also looking ahead to one of the most impactful days of the year—Give STL Day on May 8.

This year, we invite you to support the Light of Parkway Program, which shines a spotlight on the behind-the-scenes heroes who keep our schools running—bus drivers, custodians, food service workers, and more. These awards, inspired by the legacy of Sandy Finch, celebrate kindness, joy, and service in action.

Each recipient is honored with a $500 award thanks to donors like you. Your gift on May 8 will ensure this tradition continues—uplifting those who serve our schools so faithfully.

Thank you for being an essential part of the Parkway community. Your support continues to make a difference.

With gratitude,

Kennedy Graf
Parkway South '15
President, Parkway Alumni Association

Congratulations to Jeffrey Spector and John Kilper on being elected to the Parkway Board of Education!

Both Spector and Kilper—Parkway graduates and current Parkway parents—were sworn in during the April 16 board meeting after securing the top votes on Election Day.

We’re thankful for their commitment and look forward to the leadership they’ll bring to our Parkway community!

Congratulations to Jennifer Dieffenderfer Krieger [PWH'89]!

Jennifer has been unanimously appointed as the new City Manager of Dacono, Colorado, a rapidly growing suburb just north of Denver. Jennifer's leadership and dedication are evident, having served as the Director of Community Development in Dacono and stepping up as the interim city manager since July 2023.

We’re incredibly proud to see our alumni making such an impactful difference in their communities!

Randy Biggerstaff [PCH'69] and his son share a bond that spans decades, proving that friendship, family, and community are at the heart of what it means to be a Parkway alum. This father-son duo reflects on their incredible journey of friendship that has lasted for over 20 years — a beautiful example of the tight-knit community Parkway graduates build, no matter where life takes them.

Read more about their touching story here.

A big congratulations to Jansen Miller [PWH'20]!

Jansen has officially signed with Sporting Kansas City! This is a huge achievement, and we couldn't be prouder. Jansen's dedication, hard work, and talent have led him to this exciting new chapter in his professional soccer career.

Read all about his signing in the official Sporting KC news release here.

Grants in Action at Central Middle!

Central Middle School is cultivating more than just plants—they’re growing a community garden to benefit students and the environment, all thanks to a grant from the Suzy Zucker Esstman Educational Grant for Parkway Teachers!

This outdoor garden will provide students with hands-on experience in sustainability and environmental stewardship—planting the seeds for future growth!

The #GrantingDreams Awards Are Here!

We’re beyond excited to announce the 2025 Granting Dreams awards to over 100 students this spring! The Granting Dreams program, sponsored by the Parkway Alumni Association, offers three amazing grant opportunities for Parkway students who have a passion to learn beyond the classroom.

We can’t wait to see how these exceptional students seize the incredible opportunities they’ve been given through the Granting Dreams program and make a lasting impact in their communities!

We need help at your school! We have openings for bus drivers, and many others for custodians and grounds crew employees needed to support our families. If you know someone who is interested, please share this with them. Interested applicants can call 314-415-8401 for more information or visit this website.
