Principal's Weekly Update
Week of October 21-25
Administrator's Message 🐾
Wildcat Families,
There are only two weeks left in this grading period - please make sure to check Aeries often, encourage your child to contact their teachers about missing assignments, and to continue using their planners daily!
We offer math tutoring every week - the schedule is included in every parent newsletter weekly.
This week, we have several field trips including 6th grade science and AVID, the Glow Dance, a student assembly and it's a bye week for sports. Please read the entire newsletter for important updates!

Celebrating Our Community’s Diversity
The cities of Fairfield and Suisun City are two of the most diverse communities in California. To honor that diversity, each week FSUSD will be sharing information about the cultures that make up our extra special learning community.
October is Filipino-American History Month. Filipino Americans are the second-largest Asian American group in the nation and the third-largest ethnic group in California. The celebration of Filipino American History Month commemorates the first recorded presence of Filipinos in the continental United States, which occurred on October 18, 1587, when “Luzones Indios” came ashore from the Spanish galleon Nuestra Senora de Esperanza and landed at what is now Morro Bay, California. In 2009, U.S. Congress recognized October as Filipino American History Month in the United States.
BGW Happenings
Great Shakeout Drill
BGW participated in the great shakeout drill on 10/17, followed by a fire drill. Our students practiced how to respond in these situations, and followed staff directions well. You can see the straight lines by class on the blacktop after evacuation, and all signs were green indicating clear! It was a smooth drill!
Math Tutoring
This week's BGW math tutoring will take place after school:
- Monday, 10/21 in room 5 (Parker) and room 8 (Lunch)
- Thursday, 10/24 in room 9 (Quertermous), room 21 (Henry) and room 22 (Mitchell)
Students are welcome to attend any math tutoring room for help.
Sports
Please contact our athletic director Ms. Brucia with any sports questions at tinab@fsusd.org.
Any middle school student attending an FSUSD high school game must be accompanied by an adult.
Students attending home games at BGW must have their school ID and must pay 20 PBIS points to attend. Only students from BGW and from the opposing team will be able to enter games. Space is limited.
Volleyball
Hats off to our BGW Wildcats for showcasing their resilience and determination against the PSA Eagles in yesterday's thrilling match! Despite the narrow loss (25-22) in the last set, the team displayed remarkable hustle and fight!
See game schedule below:
Cross Country
The girls team won the cross country Meet again this past week and took 1st place with a perfect score of 15. The boys team took 2nd place. Great job by both teams! The next Meet will be next week at Green Valley.
Flag Football
B.Gale Wilson Wildcats Flag Football Team roared back to victory with a dominating performance against PSA, securing an impressive 43-6 win! The season is far from over, and we're ready for more triumphs! They are currently tied for 1st place.
