Student Athletes of the Month

Emma Horrocks
We are proud to recognize Senior Captain Emma Horrocks as one of May’s Student-Athletes of the Month for her outstanding performance, leadership, and service to both her team and community. A steady force all season, Emma elevated her game in May—batting .500 across 12 games with 18 hits, 5 home runs, and 14 RBIs. Defensively flawless, she hasn’t made a single error, has caught six runners stealing, and consistently commands the field by calling every game behind the plate.

Emma’s impact extends far beyond the softball diamond. A true leader, she serves as a class representative, National Honor Society member, and President of the National Technical Honor Society. In the offseason, she organized a used equipment drive, donating gear to local youth athletes and giving back to the game she loves. A multi-sport student-athlete, Emma also competed in field hockey this fall, demonstrating her versatility and commitment year-round.

DR is honored to celebrate Emma for her excellence as a student-athlete and role model whose influence will be felt long after the season ends.

Ty Perry
We are excited to recognize Sophomore Ty Perry as one of May’s Student-Athletes of the Month for his impressive athletic achievements, leadership, and community involvement. This season, Ty has compiled an outstanding 11-2 record in matches, highlighted by a strong showing in May. He recently secured a victory in his MIAA Division 3 boys tennis tournament match and earned runner-up honors for the SCC League MVP, reflecting his skill and determination on the court.
Beyond his individual success, Ty has shown great leadership by assisting with drills for incoming freshmen, helping to build the future of the program. Off the court, Ty dedicates his time volunteering with Meals on Wheels, demonstrating a strong commitment to service. Additionally, he is an entrepreneur who launched his own online business in 2024, specializing in shoes and clothing, balancing his athletic and academic responsibilities with impressive business acumen.

DR is proud to honor Ty for his achievements, leadership, and positive impact both on and off the tennis court.
