Message from the Principal

Dear Students, Parents, and School Community,

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your unwavering support during this "No Consolidation" campaign. Dublin City Schools has a rich tradition of “High Achievement and Success for All Students” that is recognized not only in our community but also across the state.

As your high school principal, I had the honor this past Saturday of representing our school district as a presenter at Atlanta Public Schools' G-3 Summit. This opportunity highlighted the innovations and success of Dublin City Schools as a Charter School District. It is a testament to the incredible work being done on behalf of our students, staff, and school community.

The moral of the story is clear: Dublin City Schools is a model for excellence and is recognized by other districts, such as Atlanta Public Schools, for the accomplishments we’ve made and the work that is ongoing. This is possible because of the strong partnership between our schools, families, and the community.

Together, let us continue to embrace our unique identity, preserve our rich traditions, and say “No” to consolidation. Thank you for your dedication and for being champions of Dublin City Schools.

Sincerely,

Michael Overstreet

Dublin High School’s rising star, Urick Andrews, has been honored with a spot on the 2024 Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) Boys All-State Soccer Team. This prestigious recognition highlights Urick’s exceptional talent, passion for the game, and contributions to the Dublin High School soccer program. “I want to thank Sgt. Baham and Coach Starley for everything they’ve done for me,” Andrews said. “Their hard work, dedication, and belief in me have made all the difference. They pushed me to be a better player and a better person, teaching me lessons that go far beyond the field. “I wouldn’t have achieved any of these awards without their guidance and support.”

As a sophomore, Andrews led the Dublin Fighting Irish with an impressive eight goals, ten assists, and 62 steals. His remarkable performance on both ends of the field showcased his versatility, vision, and dedication to the game. Andrews’ accolades continue to grow. He earned All-Region honors in 2022 and 2023 and was selected to play in the highly competitive GACA All-Star Game. Additionally, he was named to the GHSA Preseason All-State Team, solidifying his reputation as one of Georgia’s top young players. “As a coach, it’s incredible to see one of our players earn All-State honors,” Baham said. “This recognition is a testament to his hard work, determination, and the countless hours he invested on and off the field. Urick sets a standard of excellence for our program and inspires his teammates to aim higher. I’m extremely proud of what Urick has accomplished and excited to see how far his journey will take him.” Andrews’ achievements reflect not only his hard work but also the growing soccer culture at Dublin High School.

Congratulations to Urick Andrews on this incredible accomplishment! Soccer season kicks off next month. Look for complete schedule details in the coming weeks.
