Volunteers for the Cafeteria 2/22-2/27!

Food scrap recycling is coming to Julian Curtiss in February! The Eagles are building on their success at reducing cafeteria waste through the Zero Waste Schools program and will now separate all food scraps and compostable paper into a green bin for recycling. Students will learn about the impacts of wasted food and the benefits of composting for the health of people and the planet. The collected material will be picked up weekly by a hauler who will transport it to Quantum Biopower, an anaerobic digester in Southington. Instead of the food scraps being burned as trash, this valuable material will be processed into energy and compost, which can be used in our gardens.

Have any gently used Pete the Cat board books? Have any gently used Pete the Cat board books?

Dear JC Community,

Shared/Interactive reading is an amazing and natural way to support language development so I was hoping to create a library of interactive books for our learners to borrow. As part of this initiative, I was hoping to collect gently used Pete the Cat board books or other similar series to get started. Our community of learners appreciate your generosity. You can drop any donations off in the main office.

Gratefully,

Yaneli Avila, M.S., CCC-SLP
