Advice?

“When your mother asks, ‘Do you want a piece of advice?’ it is a mere formality. It doesn’t matter if you answer yes or no. You’re going to get it anyway.” Erma Louise Bombeck was an American humorist who achieved great popularity for her syndicated newspaper humor column describing suburban home life from 1965 to 1996.

Key Project Update

  • Take a first look at westside planning for street/sidewalks. Please take the survey, www.surveymonkey.com/r/ES_SafeStreets. Improvements require grant funding to be made, public support is needed for grant approval.
  • Planning & Zoning is undertaking a process to update development codes beginning this month. The code review process will focus on updating and correcting the current Zoning & Subdivision Regulations and other development related code sections to fix conflicting language, clarify areas of ambiguity, and modernize regulatory steps. The process will reflect existing City land use and development policy in the Comprehensive Plan and is expected to take at least all year to complete.
  • Operation of Vaccination Clinics are subject to changes being discussed, but nothing has been settled at this point. We have been asked to identify seniors that need transportation assistance for a clinic next week, please give names & contact info to Senior Center, jeffbarge@esparkrec.com. Information will be released as it becomes available.
  • Refinancing Community Center & Golf Clubhouse now will save $1M over the life of the bonds. It is possible to include $5M in the refinancing to begin Phase II at the Community Center, conversations are starting to consider how to move this project forward.
