Happy Fall Y'all!
I can't believe it is already October and we are days away from Fall Break! This past month was busy around Fox Hollow and I think we are all starting to feel like we are getting into the groove here at school. I want to say THANK YOU to our PTO and a JOB WELL DONE to our parents that ran Running to the Max. This year we chose to run the entire process as a school so we could keep all of the profits to support our amazing Teacher Assistants. I know that the run day was great and the kids had a blast! Next up will be prize day on Oct. 11!
As we move into fall, you will be receiving information from your child's teacher regarding Fall Conferences in November. We look forward to seeing you all and having the chance to share with you all the great things your child has been learning.
Have a great weekend.... Ashley Gray

From the Nurse...
Hello Fox Hollow Families!
We have had such a great beginning to the school year!
We have already been seeing lots of illnesses making their way through Fox Hollow! If your child is ill we ask that you keep them at home and reach out to your health care provider for guidance. Children who return to school too soon after an illness may take longer to recover and may be more susceptible to other illnesses during the recovery time. While we do want your child to be here at school learning as much as possible, we also want them to return healthy and available to learn. Taking time for your child to recover at home also prevents the spread of the illness at school and keeps the school community healthier.
Flu Vaccines are already available- I HIGHLY encourage families to go get them ASAP. Please see attached fliers for info and locations of where your child can get a flu shot.
KINDERGARTEN PARENTS: Please continue to send in a change of clothes in your child’s backpack. This is so nice to have for “just in case” should they have an accident at school. These first couple of months are an adjustment especially for our little ones.
**If your child has had an accident at school and is given clinic clothing, please wash them (shirts, shorts, pants) and return them as soon as you are able.
Thank you!
-Nurse Angie

What's Happening In Specials?
Music - Gwen Schulte
As we enter the third rotation of specials in music, we are focusing on three standards: Expression of Music, Theory of Music, and Aesthetic Valuation of Music. We are playing instruments and singing, learning to express ourselves through making music, we are learning and using the vocabulary of musicians as well as apply the terms to our music making, and we are critiquing our ability to play and sing well to be able to identify areas of pieces and skills where we need more practice and support.
Additionally, choir and ukulele club are in “full swing.” The choir will perform at our Veteran’s Day Celebration, Nov. 11, 2019. (More details soon.)
P.E. - Sabrina McKenna
What is Happening at the P.E. Party Place…
Kindergarten – We are continuing to work on body awareness, keeping our body bubble, and safe movement. Students have loved playing different games while working on these skills.
1st – 5th - After October 4, you should be able to see your child’s P.E. Warm Up they created on Seesaw! Students went through a variety of exercises to decide which would best fit them in a P.E. Warm Up. Students will utilize this Warm Up for the next few P.E. rotations.
We will now begin working on identifying parts of different games (Name of Game, Rules, Equipment, etc.) while playing games each day in P.E. This will be the ground work for students creating their own game!
Fall Runner’s Club is over! Look for flyers to come home in the Spring.
4th and 5th grade intramurals will be starting soon. 4th grade on Mondays. 5th grade on Thursdays or Fridays. Information went home on Monday, September 30th. If you need the information again, let Mrs. McKenna know!
