Bailey Families,
This was a very eventful week at Bailey. On Thursday your child may have mentioned that we went into a building wide hold a few times. It seems like this would be a good time to make sure all of our families understand protocols surrounding a hold. A hold is a proactive procedure that we follow to prevent dangers for students. It is not in reaction to a danger. Typically this is followed when there is something in the hallway that we would want students to avoid. This could range from vomit, to a spilled water bottle, to a medical emergency, to a student behavior that warrants a minute of privacy. When this happens, teachers simply close their doors and continue instruction as usual. It is typically not disruptive to the school day. The flyer below outlines our safety actions. Please reach out to your child's teacher or to me if you have any questions at all.
We hope everyone has a safe and snow filled weekend!

Attention 5th Grade Parents
Dear 5th Grade Families,
Middle school class scheduling is upon us! Families have been invited to Grizzell and Karrer middle school on Thursday, January 29th from 6:00-7:00pm to learn about middle school from Principals, Counselors and students!
Additionally, on January 26th and 27th, I will be sharing this presentation with the 5th grade students, going over their class options for 6th grade and passing out the course scheduling form. I will answer questions about their class options and they will be bringing home their planning form and a paper copy of the courses they are able to choose from. I am asking that they bring those home to discuss with you, as a family, and then bring the forms back by February 2nd as we will be putting them into Infinite Campus together during the week of February 2nd. Please note the band and orchestra fittings in the presentation.
Please email me with any questions you may have after our lesson on January 26th and 27th!
Thank you,
Laine O'Donnell, School Counselor
