Greetings, Jefferson Students and Families!

We are still the land of opportunity! This month we have a lot to celebrate, such as right to vote, celebrating Veteran's Day, and Thanksgiving. Our country is rich with history of honoring our past and preparing for an even better future. Education is a right that we don't take for granted. Teaching is a calling and I want to take time to give a huge shoutout to our teachers. Jefferson staff are dedicated to ensuring our students have the best learning experience. I have the privilege of going into classrooms to observe and do walkthroughs. I love to go into the classrooms and watch the "learning."

I want to give.a few tips on how to ask your child about their day at Jefferson. Here are some alternatives to the "What did you learn today?":

  • "What was something challenging you worked on today, and how did you approach it?"
  • "Did you ask any questions today? What were they about?"
  • "What’s something new you discovered that surprised you?"
  • "Was there a moment today when you felt proud of your work? Can you tell me about it?"
  • "How did you work with your classmates on something today?"
  • "Is there anyplace you would like to visit that you learned about today?"

  • These questions might illicit a different response than "nothing." I promise the day is filled with learning and engagement. I have a topic within our Daily Announcements that highlights one important event that happened on that day in history. I did ask the students who would like to ride a barrel through Niagara Falls with me this week. I haven't gotten any takers yet!

    Educationally,

    Dr. Tami Eshleman

Jefferson has 96.09% attendance rate for the school year.%, all graded had over 95%, excellent job parents getting your students to school. We strive to be above 95% as a school. If your family is facing barriers to get your child to school, please don't hesitate to reach out to Dr. Eshleman, Mrs. Fleck, or Mrs. Hahn so that we can get you in touch with community resources to help.

Mrs. Fleck does a great job of recognizing students for attendance goals and behavior expectations. We will be posting our October Class with the best attendance soon!

Jefferson Elementary Breakfast and Lunch Jefferson Elementary Breakfast and Lunch

Jefferson Elementary participates in the Community Eligibility Program (CEP). CEP schools provide free breakfast and lunch to schools. We are fortunate to provide this resource to families. If students bring their own lunch and want to buy a milk, they must bring $0.50. Some students want to have a second entrée, parents would have to provide funds for additional entrées.
