PTA Update from the Eagle's Nest

We are one full month into school, and it has been a lot of fun seeing so many students growing in their Bingham Farms classes. Some of the highlights:

The VW Lab has brought a lot of curiosity, the renovated classrooms and spaces have been a bright light, and of course, the refreshed restrooms have been a highlight for so many!
It has also been such a blessing to have volunteers on the playground, handing out ice cream, and in the library. This month, we are asking all families to commit to participating where possible. Whether it be once a month, once a week, or as available, every bit of time makes a difference in our school.
Our Bingham Boo Committee has added some pretty awesome features to this year's event. I know my kids can't wait to check out the Witch's Brew and Balloon Twisting!
If you haven't purchased your wristbands, please do so ASAP. Pre-sale prices are $16/each ($55 Family Max), and at the door, they will be $25/each (no family max). Door wristband sales will end at 7 pm and are not guaranteed should the event be sold out prior.

School Spirit Day - October 9

Join us in cheering on our Detroit Lions and adding some extra spirit in our school on October 9th. Students are asked to dress in their favorite Detroit Lions gear or bright blue. Bingham Eagles get ready to chant, "Goooo Lions!"

Dynamic Parents, Where You At?

We are in need of 6-8 engaging Dads, Moms, Uncles, Aunts, Caregivers to lead our 50/50 Sales at the Bingham Boo. If you love interacting with people - we need YOU! and Your closest friends. Dad's this could be your turn to not tote the kids around the Boo for an hour (then swap and the Mom's can take the other half). The 50/50 is a great way for us to raise valuable funds for our school. Grab your buddies and have fun supporting our school!

Volunteer the 50/50 and other Boo Activities

Thanks to everyone who has signed up for their family PTA Membership. If you haven't already done so, please log in to update your Directory information. We have about 50 families that need to be updated. Also, if you would like to contribute, we welcome donations to our Classroom Fund. These valuable donations help us host four parties for our students this year. If we get enough Classroom Funds, we won't be hitting you up each time the parties roll around.

Volunteer Opportunities: October-December

Each newsletter, we will update volunteer opportunities for ways to get involved in the school and see your kiddos. No experience needed, just warm smiles and a willingness to help out. *Volunteer opportunities for class parties will be sent out by your Grade Connector. In the meantime, will you consider helping us in the Library, Cafeteria, or on the Playground?

Volunteer iChat Form - MUST DO!

We love school volunteers throughout the year. If you plan on helping out at school or visiting a classroom as a guest reader, a new iChat form must be completed annually and will be kept on file for the 2025/2026 school year. Once you complete the form, you can email it to sallen2@birmingham.k12.mi.us or drop it off in the school office.

National PTA: Mental Health for Families

As a member of the PTA, we have great resources provided from National PTA. This month we are highlighting their resources to support Mental Health for Families. Gain access to valuable information on how to address the various situations you or your family may be facing. As always, members of our PTA and Bingham Farms community are here to support you.

PTA Membership Directory

We invite all our families to update their Membership Directory information. The Directory is a great resource for accessing phone numbers and emails for get-togethers, parties, and the random, "what was the homework due tomorrow?" questions that come up. List as much info as you feel comfortable to share.

Please note: Grade Connectors and Teachers will never share an individual student's contact information. If you'd like to connect with a student's parent/caregiver, the Directory is a great resource.

Classroom Funds

Class funds support our four class parties (Halloween, Winter, Valentines, and End-of-Year), treats, games, and crafts. By supporting the Classroom Fund, we will minimize our ask for donations to parties throughout the year.

Stay in touch with friends and share your back-to-school highlights on your grade's Facebook pages. These are meant to be social spaces that spread positivity throughout our classes.

Kroger Community Rewards

Help our school while you shop. Under your Kroger Plus Card Account > Rewards > Community Rewards, you can select an organization that a portion of your sale goes to support! Choose AC809 for Bingham Farms Elementary and our PTA gets a check with no extra steps after you sign-up.

Box Tops for Education

A great way to support the school is through Box Top$ for Education. Long gone are the days of clipping the barcodes of cereal boxes or soup labels. Download the app, select Bingham Farms Elementary, and each time you shop at the grocery scan your receipt. It will auto calculate the donation and send it to our school! It is easy, and you don't need to know which food or supplies qualify for credit - the app checks for you. Now download that app while you wait for the bus, or in the pick-up gathering zone. Thanks for supporting our school, and be sure to share with friends and family too!
