Dear Isaac Fox Families,

As our last day of the school year quickly approaches, we are looking forward to today’s End-of-Year Celebration! Our students have worked incredibly hard all year long demonstrating what it means to be safe, responsible, and kind, and we are excited to celebrate all they have accomplished together.

We hope you enjoy the upcoming 3-day weekend with family and friends and find time to relax and recharge. The final two days next week are sure to feel bittersweet as we reflect on a truly fabulous school year while preparing to take the next steps ahead — whether that means moving on to a new grade level, heading to middle school, or even beginning a new journey with a family move.

Our school community is such a special one, and we are incredibly grateful for the support, partnership, and care shown throughout the year. We hope we continue to lift one another up and support each other just as we have all year long as Foxes.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kelly Olivero
Principal, Isaac Fox Elementary

Field Day & Kindergarten Olympics Fun!

What a fantastic Field Day! The sun was shining, the weather was absolutely perfect, and our students had an amazing time enjoying a day full of movement, laughter, and fun. From exciting games and relay races to cooling off with water activities, students stayed active and made wonderful memories with classmates and staff alike. As always, tug-of-war was a classic favorite and brought lots of cheers and friendly competition!

Our youngest learners also had their special moment to shine during Kindergarten Olympics the day before, where our kindergarteners enjoyed their own Field Day experience filled with smiles, teamwork, and age-appropriate fun.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make these events such a success for our students!

Senior Walk Through Tradition at IF!

The Senior Walk Through is a tradition we hold near and dear to our hearts. Each year, as our former Foxes prepare to graduate from Lake Zurich High School, they return to the halls of Isaac Fox Elementary School — the place where their educational journey first began.

Our current Foxes line the hallways, cheering on the Bears as they take one final walk through the den and reconnect with former teachers and staff members who helped shape their early years. The morning is always filled with hugs, smiles, laughter, maybe a few tears, and many heartfelt congratulations.

It is such a meaningful experience for both our graduating seniors and our current students, who get a glimpse into their own futures. And as we are reminded every year, that future arrives more quickly than we can imagine.

5th grade picnic and visit to MSS

Our 5th graders are beginning to look ahead to an exciting new chapter while also making the most of their final weeks of elementary school together. The annual 5th Grade Picnic was filled with fun, laughter, and camaraderie as students enjoyed team competitions, a refreshing Kona Ice treat, yearbook and shirt signing, and time spent celebrating friendships and memories made over the years.

Last week, students also took an exciting trip “down the hall” to Middle School South, where they met with administrators to learn more about the upcoming school year and what to expect as future middle school students. They even had the opportunity to enjoy lunch in the cafeteria, giving them a small preview of life at the next level. It has been wonderful watching our students balance excitement for the future while cherishing these special final elementary school moments together!

TRANSITION TO PARENTSQUARE MASS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM TRANSITION TO PARENTSQUARE MASS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Over the past two years the district’s Communications Department has been working with stakeholder committees and survey feedback to understand how we can improve our communications in terms of district and principal mass communications, website content, social media, and more.

During the 25-26 school year the Communications Committee took a deeper look into mass communication platforms that are more family friendly, offering more of a “one stop location” for communications, with views by school or by student, in a digest format, in an app, etc. Committee members had an opportunity to trial those platforms from a sending and from a receiving perspective, and provide feedback.

We are pleased to share that over the course of the summer and into the fall, the district will transition to the ParentSquare platform for district and principal level communications, as well as for messaging that currently takes place through Remind. We look forward to this exciting transition and wanted to be sure you knew! As we begin a phased rollout this summer, more information will be shared about ParentSquare features, downloading the app, and other important details.

Thank you for your support as we move forward with this exciting transition!

GROWTH ORIENTED GROWTH ORIENTED

This month, we're going to be learning about something super important for learning and growing: being Growth Oriented! This means believing that you can get smarter and better at anything with practice and effort. It's like a plant that keeps growing bigger and stronger every day. Even if something feels hard right now, your brain is like a muscle – the more you use it, the stronger it gets! So, let’s get ready to grow our brains and our abilities together.

Please remind students that if they need to reach you, they should always ask an adult in the building for assistance. This includes lunch and recess times and especially, when they're not feeling well. A visit to the nurse is warrented prior to the student making contact with home to arrange their own pick up. Take a moment to talk with your child about what to do if they need to contact you during the school day and do your best to model appropriate communication practices.

Reversely, if you need to communicate with your child during the school day, please contact the school office. Our office staff will make sure your message is delivered or will connect you with your child if it’s necessary in the moment.

By following this process, students can stay focused on learning, and our staff can best support them if a need arises. Thank you for your cooperation and partnership!

Crossing Deerpath - Please use crosswalk!

When dropping off or picking up your student, parents are able to park in the lot near the soccer fields located along Deerpath Road. During these time, we ask families to please cross only within the designated crosswalk area from the soccer field parking lot to the school grounds. Guardians, staff, and buses all use this route, and it can become quite busy during these times. By following crosswalk procedures and traffic expectations, you help ensure the safety of all members of our community while also modeling positive habits for our children. Thank you for doing your part to keep Isaac Fox a safe and caring place for everyone.

No Left Turn During Drop Off TIme

There have been an increase in the number of cars that have been avoiding the car drop off line and turning left to drop off directly in front of the main entrance. It is vital that our bus line remains open during this time. As you enter through the front entrance off Cuba Rd., please turn right and follow the drop off line. Our supervisors ensure that the line moves with efficiecy and also remains safe. Your cooperation is appreciated!

Car Pool Lane Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures

When dropping off or picking up your student in the car lane near MSS, it is important that you remain in your car at all times. Students need to be exiting the vehicle on the side nearest the sidewalk and schools. If students need help unbuckling, buckling, gathering and carrying items, then it is best to park in a spot in front of MSS or alternatively use the back lot near the soccer field and walk your child into school. Following this procedure helps maintain safety and efficiency as we get our students from home to school and back again each day. Thank you for your cooperation!

Addition of Cones to AM Arrival Carpool Pickup Zone

During the colder weather months, we often see an increase in the number of students being driven to school and dropped off in the morning. As a result, it is important that our drop-off procedures remain both efficient and—most importantly—safe. There is no need to pull all the way up to the stop sign before your child exits the vehicle. The designated drop-off zone, marked by two large orange cones, begins at the Middle School South entrance and extends up to the stop sign. Once you have come to a complete stop within this zone, it is safe for your student to exit the vehicle on the sidewalk side. Please take a moment to review the standing reminders included later in this newsletter, and thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and smooth arrival process for everyone.

Pick up Time and Change in Transportation Method

We strongly discourage students from being dismissed between 2:30-2:50 pm due to the dismissal lines and buses at that time. If you need to pick your child up early, please arrange for a time prior to 2:30pm.

Understand that no changes in student transportation will be made without a written or verbal request from a parent or guardian.

Once we have established your designated travel, you must notify your child’s teacher and the office in writing or via phone call each time a change is made from that routine. If a change in transportation is necessary please adhere to the following guidelines: Notify the office of the dismissal change via note or phone call prior to 2pm.
