ST MIKE'S BASEBALL TEAM VISITS KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS! ST MIKE'S BASEBALL TEAM VISITS KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS!

Players from the St. Mike’s Baseball team visited our Kindergarten students today and brought each child a bag filled with school supplies! The kids were absolutely thrilled. In addition to the individual gifts, the team also donated a wonderful selection of board games for the Kindergarten classroom, which will be enjoyed for months to come. We are so grateful for their generosity and the joy they brought to our young learners today!

THE CVSD EARLY EDUCATION LOTTERY IS NOW OPEN FOR 2026-2027! THE CVSD EARLY EDUCATION LOTTERY IS NOW OPEN FOR 2026-2027!

The CVSD Early Education Program is now accepting applications for a random prekindergarten lottery drawing for the 2026-27 school year. This lottery is for an opportunity to enroll in one of our school-based classrooms which runs 4 partial days per week. Our school-based prekindergarten classrooms are 5 STARs, licensed early education programs that provide play-based, developmentally appropriate environments for all children in an inclusive setting. Our curriculum is based on the Vermont Early Learning Standards (VELS).

Our programs follow the CVSD school calendar. Children who will be age 3 or older by September 1, 2026, who are not eligible for kindergarten, and live in the communities of Charlotte, Hinesburg, Shelburne, St. George, and Williston are eligible to enter the lottery. Families who are selected for the lottery and choose to enroll their child in a CVSD program access their Act 166 publicly funded prekindergarten funds for the school-based program.

All applications must be received by February 5, 2026, and are located on the CVSD Early Education website under PreK Enrollment. Paper applications are available upon request.

For additional information, questions about our program, or any concerns about your child’s development, please visit our website or contact Director of Early Education, Erin Gagne at egagne@cvsdvt.org. Our Early Education team is also available for developmental screenings in the areas of communication, social-emotional development, motor skills, adaptive development, and cognition. More information about an Early Multi-Tiered System of Supports is also available on the website.

User uploaded image
zoom_out_map

The Bolton Ski and Ride program is back for Hinesburg Community School students in grades 5-8. Josh Terreberry and Calen King are co-coordinating the program.

NOTE: We are able to bring a maximum of 125 students from HCS, so please sign up early to ensure your student(s) can participate.

DATES:

  • The session is 4 weeks long, with a make-up day in the 5th week if the program is canceled on any of the scheduled days due to weather or other reasons.
  • The program dates are on Wednesdays (HCS early release days), so the group will leave HCS after school around 2:20 and return to HCS around 7:30 pm.

Program Dates: 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, and 1/28.

Make-up Date: 2/3 (Regardless of how many of the scheduled dates are cancelled, Bolton only offers one make-up day.)

ENROLLMENT:

  • Click HERE to complete the enrollment form.
  • Complete Bolton’s WAIVER for each participating student and each volunteer chaperone.

Enrollment will not be considered final until payment is received.

PAYMENT:

Payments must be made by check:

  • Payable to Hinesburg Community School
  • Please write the name of your student(s) in the MEMO section.
  • Drop off at the HCS office.

DEADLINES:

Friday 12/12 by 8pm -- Enrollment form submitted

Friday 12/19 by 12pm – Payment dropped off at HCS Office

PRICING:

Lift ticket - $90

Lessons - $75

Price includes 4 lessons, one each day of the program.

Level 1 & 2 lessons are available and are an hour long with groups of up to 8 students.

Ski or snowboard rental (includes helmet) - $80

If your child wishes to lease equipment for the whole season rather than just for the HCS after school program, that should be done through separate contract and payment to Bolton Valley.

The cost for a season lease is $89 (if paid before December 15) or $109 (if paid after December 16).

Season lease equipment must be returned to Bolton by April 15, 2025.

Helmet rental - $25

CVSD transportation fee - $30

Bolton buffet - $50

During program nights a buffet will be offered from 5:30-7:30 in the Explorers Clubhouse downstairs in the main lodge. Food offerings include chicken tenders, french fries, and mac & cheese. Bolton does not accept cash anymore, so students will need to sign up for the buffet and/or have a credit or debit card or buy mountain credit for food and drinks.

VOLUNTEERS:

  • We need additional program volunteers to ride the bus, help participants with rentals, tickets, and getting to lessons, to supervise the lifts and on the slopes, and to be in the lodge in case of emergency.
  • We will have a free volunteer lift ticket for every 10 participants in the program. So, if we have 80 students sign up, we will have 8 lift tickets for volunteers.
  • Please let Josh know if you would like to volunteer to help with the program.
