Wildcat Weekly- 11/10-11/14

Message from Principal Martinez πΎ
Dear Wildcat Families:
Itβs the first week of November and we were very excited to celebrate Gratitude at our Friday Flag! This week we celebrated our Psychologist, Laura Valencia during National Psychologist Week! We are grateful to have a great school psych on our team at Pomerado! Looking ahead, we had to postpone our Wildcat Run due to potential rain. The event will occur the following week and we greatly appreciate every dollar donated and every sponsorship that has made this an amazing fundraiser! Donβt forget that we donβt have school on Tuesday to honor Veteranβs day. On behalf of the Pomerado community, we express our deep gratitude to our family and community member heroes who have served our country. We thank you for your service in protecting our country!
Go Wildcats!

π The Giving Tree π
(formerly known as Adopt-A-Family)
Pomerado is very happy to continue this wonderful tradition and the valuable annual support of the Giving Tree program.
PUSD adopts more than 20 of our families, and Pomerado Elementary is adopting two families within our district community!
π Please visit our sign up sheet where you will find the list of gifts requested: https://signup.com
How to Help:
- Choose a gift by scanning the QR code on this flyer, taking one of the small thank-you ornaments from our Christmas tree, or stopping by the office to select a gift from the list displayed next to the tree.
- Gifts must be new and unwrapped.
- Label all items with the family ID (LP07 or GR03) and the recipient (for example: boy, 9 years old).
- Please include the purchase receipt (especially for clothing). If purchased online, include the gift receipt.
- If donating gift cards, please write the dollar amount on the card and include the receipt.
π Gift drop-off deadline:
December 5, in the school office.
π Supporting the Sarasin Family π
Our Pomerado community is rallying around the Sarasin family β our wonderful noon duty Mrs. Molly and her 5th grader Caitlin β as their husband and dad, Adam, bravely battles cancer. During this challenging time, we hope to lighten their load and show our love and support.
If youβd like to help, consider donating a DoorDash or Uber Eats gift card, or cozy comfort items like beanies, books or blankets for chemo treatment. The family are big Chargers and Padres fans, so team-themed items are always appreciated! (Donations can be dropped off in the front office).
Please note that Caitlin has asked not to be approached or asked about this at school. Thank you for respecting her wishes and helping her keep school a place of comfort and normalcy.
Letβs continue to surround the Sarasin family with positive vibes, good thoughts, and heartfelt prayers as they navigate this journey together.
Weβre grateful for the kindness and care that make our Pomerado community so special. π

At Pomerado, each class adopts a college and shows their school spirit by wearing their college's shirt at Friday Flag each month. If possible, PAWs asks that each parent contributes $10 to the College Shirt fund. Donations can be made at this link. Donations are not required for your child to receive a shirt. Every child will receive one!
π Career Day at Pomerado is January 14! π
Got a cool career to share with our students? Join us! π€© Career Day is a special event at Pomerado to showcase all the amazing jobs in our community. We are looking for parents and/or volunteers to come and share their careers with our students. π¨ββοΈπ©ββοΈπ§βπ» Each "career" will host a table in the MPR and classes rotate for brief, inspiring visits throughout the day. The event runs from about 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM, and the more careers we have to share, the better! π
If you're interested in sharing your career, please complete the Interest Form here (no commitment - even if you're just considering!). We need your help to get broad representation from many exciting fields! π
