Painless Fundraiser
Mustang Families,
We are in full swing on the Painless Fundraiser! This is the fundraiser where donations go straight into our school spending budget.
How your donation makes a difference:
- School Improvements – Stronger, safe, better!
- Technology, classroom essentials
- Special Moments – Core memories students will cherish forever.
- Grade level music performances
- School Events – Joyful traditions that bring us together.
- Carpe Diem Day, Field Day
- Staff Appreciation – Keeping spirits high all year long.
- Snack cart, surprise treats
With the Painless Fundraiser, 100% of your money comes directly to the school instead of having to pay a portion to a fundraising company.
A note came with your child so you can send cash in the attached envelope or you can donate online at https://pflugervilleisd.revtrak.net/es/murchison-elementary/#/v/painless-fundraiser-2025-26 or using the QR code below. Our goal is to raise $22,000 and so far we have raised $3,912. Every donation helps; no donation is too big or too small!
We have a weekend challenge for the student who raises the most money from each grade level this weekend! The top earner from each grade level (current donations through Sunday) will get priority seating for two at a school program of their choice!
Thank you for your support!

Red Ribbon Week
Next week is Red Ribbon Week! See below for the dress-up for each day.
Awards Assemblies
Our first awards assembly will be held on Friday, October 31. You will know if your child is getting an award because their teacher will reach out to you or you will see that they made all A's on their report card. 2nd-5th grade report cards will be available in the Skyward Portfolio on October 23.
Students who receive an award will get a dog tag. If your child received a dog tag previous years, feel free to have them wear the chain to school for the awards assembly. That way they can display their previous achievements and add another dog tag to the chain if they get another one! If they have misplaced theirs from previous years or are new to Murchison, they will get a new chain.
Award times are listed below:
7:50-8:10 -- 5th grade
8:15-8:35 -- 4th grade
8:40-9:00 -- 3rd grade
9:05-9:25 -- 2nd grade
9:30-9:45 -- 1st grade
9:50-10:05 -- Kindergarten
Lemonade Stand Gratitude
Thank you to our wonderful school community for supporting the 3rd grade Lemonade Stand project. Our students learned skills in entrepreneurship, team work, perseverance and giving back. We received $254 in donations and we could not have done it without you!! The donations will be sent to Alex's Lemonade Stand charity to help support the research and cure of childhood cancer, and to support families with a diagnosed child. Again, thank you all so, so much!
Tissue Box Decorating
It’s October and that means characters are everywhere! Let’s take this harvest theme and bring it into our Library for some reading fun! If you are looking for a fun family project, families are invited to decorate a tissue box together based on a book character. See the flyer below for more information.
Kids Animation and Film Workshop
Volunteers Needed!
Our music programs are absolutely amazing! We need your help to make them amazing again this year!
Ways to Help:
**Stage Decor Designer -- Responsibilities: You would be in charge of stage decor for all performances. Using the decorations we already have for each performance (no extra purchases required), come up with a stage decor design/idea for where/how to hang/place the decorations. Lead/direct the stage decor crew on the morning of decorating the day prior to each performance (see below). If there are multiple decor designers, feel free to split responsibilities/performances/decorating days to lead the decor crew, or feel free to work together.
**Stage Decor Crew -- Responsibility: With the guidance of the stage decor designer(s), you would help hang/place the decorations on/around the stage the morning prior to a performance (see below). Need at least a few people per performance.
**Costume Designer -- Responsibility: You would design/sew/create 3 simple costumes for the following characters in the winter program in December - The Abominable Snowman, Sasquatch and BigFoot. Contact Ms. Deaton for more info/details regarding costumes.

Hallow-READ Challenge in the Library!
2nd-5th grade parents:
Students were reminded recently about Beanstack and Sora - two amazing resources that support our readers!
- Sora is an online library where they can check out 2 additional books - there are thousands of options!
- Beanstack is our reading tracker app and Ms. Grillo is starting to give student prizes for their reading each month! If students read and log 300 minutes before the end each month, they can come to the library to retrieve an awesome prize plus ten Mustang dollars; we are starting this month so that means 300 minutes by Halloween for our HALLOW-READ challenge! (That's just 15 minutes a day for 20 days!). We will do this every month throughout the year.
High minute students in each grade level will be invited to monthly parties starting next month and there will be prizes for top classes as well! Please help your student login to Beanstack on your home computer, or you can download the Beanstack Tracker app for devices and they can login with their info. Click here for more details on how to login!
Kinder-1st parents: your students will be learning about Beanstack next month so they can join in the fun in November! Feel free to keep logging if you already know how from last year. :)
Please reach out to Ms. Grillo if you have any questions! theresa.grillo@pfisd.net
