Family Summer Update

I hope you are all enjoying the hot weather! Summer is absolutely my favorite season. We are working away this summer to ensure classrooms are ready for students on the first day of school.

Anticipated Class Placement Date:

We anticipate the date of Friday, August 8th for class placements to be available, as our student information system transitions to the 2025–26 school year within the first few weeks of August.

You’ll receive an email once the information is ready, letting you know it’s time to log in to the Aspen Portal to view your child’s teacher assignment. This is the same portal you use to access report cards and update emergency contact information. While you are in there, please UPDATE ALL FORMS. This information is necessary for the start of the year!

School Supplies

Sanborn continues to partner with School Tool Box again this year to offer an easy and cost-effective way to purchase back-to-school supplies for the fall. Log on to www.schooltoolbox.com, search for “Sanborn” and then locate your child’s grade level list. Each grade has required and add-on items. The boxes are delivered to your house. You can use the supply lists to purchase your own items independently, however, supply prices either meet or beat the prices at Amazon, Staples and Target. Each box is rounded up to the next dollar to provide a small amount of funds for the school to purchase additional supplies for Sanborn families in need.

Grade 1-5 New Family Orientation:

We welcome all new families who will have students entering grades 1-5 on Wednesday, August 20th at 1pm. We'll offer a tour of the school, connect you with new families, and answers any questions that you may have about the upcoming school year.

Bus routes will be emailed a few days before school starts. Please arrive 10 minutes before the bus time noted on the route and allow for an extra 10 minutes after the route time for the first few weeks of school as bus drivers learn the new routes.

How It Works:

1. Your child’s regular dismissal plan from Aspen has been entered into the system. This is called their Default Plan.
2. Whenever your child is following a plan other than their Default Plan you’ll submit the change using the PickUp Patrol app.

Examples of a plan change:

· Your child has a doctor's appointment and will be leaving early.

· Your child normally rides the bus but is getting picked up today.

· Your child normally goes to an afterschool program but will be taking the bus today.

• 3. When the change is submitted, the school will be notified. Before the end of the school day, the teachers are notified and we’ll relay the change to your child.

If you have any questions, please first check the PUP Parent Guide, then contact us in the main office. Please remember that PickUp Patrol changes only reflect that single day, not the on-going default plans. If you need to make a change to a default plan, please do so in the Aspen portal, or feel free to email the office at deborah.morrison@andoverma.us and she will make sure that default plan is reflected in PickUp Patrol.
