Weekly Update
August 18, 2025
From the Principal
Hi all!
The first days of school are now in the books. We are enthusiastic about our upcoming school year and are off to a good start. Thank you to everyone that attended the Back-to-School Picnic. It was a fun event for all and hopefully you connected with your child's teacher. Our school contact information is on our website, aquinschools.org, if you need to look someone up.
Please remember that unless you are dropping your child off for morning care (between 7 AM - 7:30 AM), all students in grades K-8 should be dropped off at the back of the school in the main parking lot. Only Pre K students should be entering the building in the front by the office. This is to make sure that our littles are protected from the amount of traffic downstairs.
Also, a reminder that we have lunch service through the Freeport School District. This means we do not have a huge supply of plastic forks and spoons or paper plates for kids to use at lunch. We get only what we need to serve that day's lunch. Please make sure that your child has what they need in their lunch box to eat their food. Thank you!
We still have openings in every grade level in the event you know someone that is looking for a change. Please have them contact Mr. Peyton Glawe at peyton.glawe@aquinschools.org or 815-235-3154.
Don't forget to come visit us at Paint the Port! Have a great weekend!
Mrs. Heitkamp
Things You Need to Know
HEALTH/IMMUNIZATION FORMS
Physicals, Immunization, Dental and Vision forms are due to Mrs. Gaulrapp in the office. These forms can be brought in before school begins, during the Back to School Picnic or sent the first day of school. It is very important to have a record of immunizations by October 15th and not having them can cause your child to be excluded from school. Please contact Mrs. Gaulrapp if you have any questions.
FREE/REDUCED LUNCH FORMS
The free/reduced lunch application forms are attached to this newsletter. If you previously qualified or think you may qualify, please make sure you fill them out. These can also be sent to the office before school starts. The first day of school lunch is August 21st. If you do not have forms turned in by this day, you will need to send a lunch with your child or you will be billed for the full cost of the lunch at $4.50.
FACTS BILLING 2025-2026
The billing for families is available in the FACTS portal. Please make sure that you are keeping current with your account. Payments can be done through the portal or by paying in the school office.
