A Message from Ms. Osmerg
Greetings #AHE-mazing Jaguar Families!
It is time for our School Governance Council (SGC) election process!
What is a School Governance Council?
The purpose of a School Governance Council (SGC) is to provide parents, school staff, and community members with a leadership role through monitoring and implementation of the strategic plan. They are also tasked with overseeing local governance, promoting innovative solutions, managing flexibility requests, overseeing Charter System funds, evaluating budget recommendations, and participating in principal hiring in case of vacancies
What is the commitment?
All School Governance Council members serve two-year terms. Time commitment varies from school-to-school but expect 2-4 hours per month which includes meetings, trainings, and school and community events.
When are the 2025 elections?
Candidate Declaration: February 3 – March 28
Elections will be held from April 16 - 23
As a reminder, the candidate declaration phase is now open and will end Friday, March 28th at 5pm. Candidates who wish to run for election should visit our charter system website, http://www.fultonschools.org/our-district/charter-system/

Fulton County Schools Illness Policy
Students who exhibit symptoms such as a fever of 100.4°F or greater, diarrhea, vomiting, or any potential or actual contagious illness (including rashes) MUST NOT be sent to school and will not be permitted to remain at school. To return to school, a student should have improved symptoms and be free of fever for more than 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications (such as acetaminophen/Tylenol or ibuprofen/Advil/Motrin). Additionally, the student must be free from diarrhea and vomiting for at least 24 hours. In some cases, students may be required to obtain clearance from a healthcare provider before returning to school. A note from the healthcare provider must be provided for students diagnosed with a contagious illness, respiratory illnesses, chronic diarrhea, or recurrent fever. If a student becomes ill at school, has a fever, or exhibits a potentially contagious or communicable illness, the parent or legal guardian will be notified to pick up their child immediately. The parent or legal guardian MUST ARRANGE for the student to be taken home. The school may request a note from a healthcare provider before the child can return to school.

Valentines Cards/Treats
As we approach Valentine’s Day, it is important to ensure that all homemade candy, desserts, baked goods, or other edible items are not to be sold or distributed during school hours. We are allowing appropriate store-bought items to be shared. All items will need to be approved prior to the exchange. Please know that taking this measure will help us maintain a safe environment for all students with allergies, etc. You can help us protect your student(s) by requesting that they not eat anything not in its original sealed package and please be reminded that some students in your child’s class may have specific allergies. Your child’s teacher will follow up with more information.
Valentine's Day deliveries or office drop-offs will not be accepted. Please plan accordingly. You can help us protect your child by reminding them that they should not eat anything given to them by another person, anything that they have not brought from your home, or anything you have not provided for them.
