Dear WLES Community,

Waters Landing is more than a school, although education is our first priority — a community school is a place to land when life feels busy, uncertain, or overwhelming.

January can bring fresh starts, but it can also bring pressure. New routines, winter stress, and long days don’t always make things easy for families.

If your family needs support, whether it’s resources, connections, or simply someone to talk to — this is your landing place. (To find out more about Community Schools CLICK the Community School logo)

I look forward to supporting and connecting with you in 2026.

Cheers to a great 2026,

Melisha Creef

January- A soft Landing after break

After the long break, easing back into routines can make a big difference for everyone, especially younger children. A few quick tips to reduce winter stress and anxiety:

  • Try re-establishing consistent bedtimes,
  • morning checklists, and
  • calm evening wind-down times.
A little patience, encouragement, and predictable structure can help your child feel secure—and make the transition back to school a softer landing for the whole family. Here's an article for more helpful tips, 9 Ways to Ensure a Smooth School Transition after the Holidays
