Forest Hills Families,
As we wrap up the 2024-2025 school year, I wanted to take a moment and thank you for the wonderful school year we've had! This has been a unique year for our school with the addition of 5th grade. Thank you for your support and patience as we navigated extra traffic, new modular buildings, and other growing pains. Although there were a few growing pains, we LOVED having 5th graders with us! As I reflect over the year, I'm reminded of what a truly special place Forest Hills Elementary School is. To the families, students, faculty & staff, thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be your Principal. I consider being your Principal my calling in life and have loved serving you this year. I pray that each and every one of you have a wonderful summer! School supply lists will be posted on our website, Facebook page, and sent out electronically by the end of June. Alabama's Back to School Tax Holiday is scheduled for July 18-20. Orientation dates will be sent out over the summer, so be sure to check your email and our Facebook page.
We are thrilled to offer a new summer reading challenge to lessen the impact of the summer reading slide. Please review the information listed below and what your student should do to earn a fun trip to the Splash Pad in August!
Be sure you've checked your child's backpack. Students brought home their report cards, headphones, ACAP Reading Reports (2nd & 3rd graders only) and any other personal items during the last week of school. Parents of rising 4th graders, be sure you read over your child's ACAP Reading Individual Student Report (ISR). This will explain how your child performed on 3rd grade reading standards. It will also state whether your child scored above the cut score or not (score required to be promoted to 4th grade). Any unclaimed student items not picked up by 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 27 will be discarded.
Registration for our Forest Hills After School Program/FHASP (paid after-school childcare) will be via email. Families of new students in kindergarten will receive an email later in June once registration is open for FHASP.
