NEW SCHOOL START AND DISMISSAL TIMES FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
New Start and End Times for Elementary Schools
As part of our efforts to reduce costs in response to this year’s budget, we are making changes to our school day schedules and transportation services beginning in September 2025. These changes are the result of moving to one morning (AM) bus run for the Coxsackie campus while maintaining two afternoon (PM) bus runs.
Please see the updated start and end times for each school building below:
Coxsackie Elementary School
Start Time: 8:07 AM
Dismissal: 2:25 PM
Coxsackie-Athens Middle and High Schools
Start Time: 8:07 AM
Dismissal: 2:25 PM (students in good standing may leave at this time)
Final Dismissal (after Office Hours): 3:09 PM
E.J. Arthur Elementary School
Start Time: 8:20 AM
Dismissal: 2:40PM
CE Students will ride the early morning run with MS/HS students. Some EJA students will ride the early morning run with MS/HS students and then shuttle to EJA with pre-kindergarten students. Additional morning routes will be in place to pick up the remaining EJA students closer to their scheduled start time. Dismissal time for EJA will be 2:40 and they will be directly transported home.
We understand that changes in school start and end times may impact your family’s daily routines, especially with before- and after-school care. We are providing this information now to give you time to make any necessary arrangements. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate this change and a focus on minimizing disruption to students and families.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your building principal.

Important Changes to Arrival and Dismissal Procedures – Coxsackie Campus
In an effort to improve the safety and efficiency of student arrival and departure on our Coxsackie campus, the following logistical changes will be implemented for the upcoming school year:
Morning Drop-Off
All elementary and middle school students will be dropped off in the YELLOW lane in the loop between the High School and Coxsackie Elementary School. See the video for more details
High School students may be dropped off in the loop or in front of the high school in the student parking section or along Sunset Blvd. in front of the flag pole.
Afternoon Pick-Up
Middle and High School Students: Pick-up will take place in the same locations as morning drop off.
Elementary Students: Pick-up will occur in the same location as morning drop-off in the loop between the schools. See video for more information.
The school will be using a new app called PIKMYKID to help manage the process.
The app will notify the school when a parent or guardian arrives on campus.
Parents will remain in their vehicles, and staff will escort students directly to their cars in the YELLOW lane.
More detailed instructions on how to access and use the app will be shared as the start of school approaches.
Walkers:
Elementary students who walk or bike home will be dismissed through the doors closest to the playground.
Middle School students will exit through Door 35 and follow the path past the Elementary playground.
Bus Procedures
Bus arrival and departure will take place in front of the High School.
No vehicles will be permitted in the High School’s front parking lot while buses are present during arrival and dismissal.
We appreciate your support and cooperation with these changes. Our goal is to create a safer, more organized experience for all students and families. Please don’t hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions.
Coxsackie Elementary Families - New Student Pick-Up System with PikMyKid
We are excited to share that this year, Coxsackie Elementary will be using PikMyKid, a secure dismissal app designed to make student pick-up safer, faster, and more organized.
📱 What you need to know:
Download the app: PikMyKid is available on the App Store and Google Play.
Student-specific QR codes: Each student has a unique QR code. These will be given out at Open House tomorrow between 2–3 PM.
Alternative option: If you cannot attend Open House, persons from Tech Sevices will be available via Google Meet tomorrow from 6–7 PM to help you get set up. Join here: https://meet.google.com/yqi-bqvp-pgey.
Complete the process on the app.
🚗 How pick-up will work:
Parents/guardians will use the app to announce their arrival at school.
Staff will see your check-in and call your child for dismissal.
Changes to dismissal (car rider, bus, after-school program, another parent/guardian, etc.) can be made directly in the app — no more notes or phone calls.
📎 Helpful Resources (attached):

We’re looking forward to a smoother and safer dismissal process this year with your support. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!
Thank you,

Land Acknowledgement
It is with gratitude and humility that we acknowledge that we are learning, speaking and gathering on the ancestral homelands of the Muhheaconneok (Muhhekunneuw) or Mohican people and the Munsee Lenape people, who are the indigenous peoples of this land. Despite tremendous hardship in being forced from here, they now reside in Wisconsin and are known as the Stockbridge-Munsee Community. We pay honor and respect to their ancestors past and present as we commit to building a more inclusive and equitable space for all.
