Wrapping up 1st Semester
Focus and Reach Goals
Happy Holidays!
As we approach the end of the first semester, it’s a great time to encourage your child to focus on finishing strong academically! Our building goals aim to ensure students are on track for graduation and successfully complete classes that align with their post-secondary plans. Attendance plays a vital role in this success, and we are striving for at least 80% of our students to attend more than 90% of the time. If you have questions or concerns about your child’s progress, please don’t hesitate to reach out to their teachers—we are all here to help. Thank you for your continued partnership in preparing your child for life after high school. Together, we can help them achieve their goals!
Wishing you a happy and healthy holiday season,
~Mrs. Shannon

Young Driver Reminders
With Winter Weather on its way, remind your student drivers:
🚗 The parking lot is tight, it will be slick, and they should drive slow
🛑 All stop signs should be followed (countless students fly through the stop sign on the east side of the building)
⌚ Allow for extra drive time so they arrive safely and to class on time
🚨 Students driving on a permit must abide by the restrictions of that license. (also some great Q&A within that link)
My child is struggling in class...what can we do?
- Contact the teacher about what the options are.
- Have your child sign up and attend Seminar with the teacher for extra help.
- Utilize the Success Center before or after school as a space to study, make up work. (email druivengat@greenecountycsd.net to ensure there is an adult available)
- Establish healthy routines that include a designated time to do school work, then limit distractions during that time (leave cell phone out of the room perhaps)
Personal Laptops are PROHIBITED at GCHS
If a computer is on your child's 🎁 shopping list...
- It cannot come to school to be used.
- Here is the School Board Policy defining this topic. (pg 2)
- If a new laptop is gifted over the holidays, students should NOT bring it to school.
