Incoming Grade 7 Summer Reading
Perseverance
Introduction to Perseverance
The summer reading theme for students entering 7th grade is perseverance. Perseverance is a character trait that is essential to being successful in life.
You will be reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. As you read each chapter, complete the comprehension questions on Google Classroom. These should be done independently and answers should be in your own words. When you return to school in September, you will have an assessment and write an essay related to Hatchet. Consider the essential question throughout your reading: How do people persevere?
This Google Classroom has PDFs, audio, and comprehension questions for each chapter. Be sure to read along with the PDF or book if you are going to use the audiobook; it helps to improve your comprehension and reading skills.
