Remembrance Day Prayer
REFLECT, REMEMBER, RESPECT
On November 11, 2025, the students of St. Timothy School will commemorate and honour this day with a reflection and promises of peace that will be displayed in our front foyer.
O God of Love, We thank you for what you have given us to enjoy; For healthy minds and bodies, for love, for family, for friendship; For every gift of happiness.
We praise you for those who help us by their example and encouragement, Especially those who have given their lives to the cause of justice and freedom. Help us, for whom their efforts were given, to make their sacrifice worthwhile by the way we live our lives in loving others.
May we always strive to follow your example and work towards creating a peaceful world. Help us have peace through full reconciliation and cooperation with God’s will for us and all those with whom we live.
We ask this in Jesus’ name,
AMEN

Virtue of the month - CONSCIENCE
CONSCIENCE is the voice of God within us. As you develop your conscience, you will learn to make decisions that will make sure you will always have love in your life. Our conscience reminds us how to act towards other people and how to be a good friend. Sometimes it is hard for us to do the right thing, but we must always remember that the right thing to do is not always the easy thing to do.
A person of conscience…
- chooses to do the right thing, even when it is hard
- takes time to think and pray before making decisions
- knows that their actions and decisions affect all those around them
- thinks of others before themselves
Therefore I do my best always to have a clear conscience toward God and all people. (Acts 24:16)
Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations: I have ideas!
- I have thoughts and opinions that matter
- I make good choices
- I have hope for the future
- I solve problems with knowledge, understanding and prayer
- I know we are all equal and special
Because I have ideas, I have a purpose, and I will live my life like Jesus.
Attendance and Punctuality
We ask that parents continue to support their children in their morning routines so that they can arrive to school on time. This ensures that your child learns an essential life skill, participates in the entire school day, and that disruptions to the learning environment are minimal.
Kiss and Ride
Thank you for your continued cooperation and adherence to our Kiss and Ride policies and procedures. If you are picking up your child on Florian Road, please be respectful of the signs around the loop that prohibit stopping or parking. We encourage you to continue accessing our kiss n' ride. Please avoid double parking. We thank you and appreciate your continued support.
Bus Loading Zone
Please be reminded that the front of the school is designated as a “Bus Loading Zone.” Parents/guardians are not permitted to pick up or drop off students in this zone. The safety of our students is our priority. Please drop off or pick up students in the designated school parking lot or the Kiss and Ride area.
Bus Safety
If your child rides the bus daily, it is important that they are aware of the safety rules on the bus. Students are required to:
- Listen to the Bus Driver at all times and report any problems or injuries to him/her
- Go directly to their assigned seat and remain seated during the entire bus ride
- Do not eat, drink, swear, fight or chew gum on the bus
- Do not put arms out the window, or throw items or garbage out the window
- If any damage to the seat of bus is caused, students will be held responsible
- Be at least 5 minutes early at your bus stop to ensure that you don't miss the bus
Improper conduct on the bus will be dealt with at the Office. Repeated or serious incidents can result in busing privileges being suspended or removed. Please review these rules with your child. Taking the bus is a privilege, not a right.
Reporting Student Absences
Safe Arrival through School Messenger
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board has implemented a new student absence reporting system that will make it easier for you to report your child’s absence from school. This new system is called SafeArrival. With SafeArrival, you are asked to report your child’s absence in advance using any of the following three convenient options:
1. Using your mobile device, download and install the SchoolMessenger app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (or from the links at https://go.schoolmessenger.ca/#/home )
- The first time you use the app, select Sign Up to create your account.
- Select Attendance then Report an Absence
- 2. Use the SafeArrival website, https://go.schoolmessenger.ca/#/home .
- The first time you use the website, select Sign Up to create your account.
- Select Attendance then Report an Absence.
- 3. Call the toll-free number 1.844.435.3440 to report an absence using the automated phone system. For Student Being Late to School or Early Departure from School.
- The automated message will prompt you to enter ABSENCE for student, and will ask if the student be ABSENT today, tomorrow etc.
- To this question, please say ‘yes’ to absent as the next question will be to enter the type of absence and will give you options of full day, late, early departure leave and return.
- The above 3 options are available 24 hours/day, 7 days a week.
- Future absences can be reported at any time
- NOTE: For absences greater than five consecutive days, please call your child’s school directly.
- Remember to: Please report absences in advance using SafeArrival instead of sending notes or calling/emailing the school.
Safety in the Schoolyard
Children are reminded that name-calling, put-downs and violence are never appropriate responses to disagreements or arguments, regardless of the provocation. Parents are urged to rehearse assertiveness skills with their children such as saying firmly, ― “Please Stop”, “I don’t like it when..” “Leave me alone”
Playground Safety Rules:
* Respect each other by being polite, friendly and co-operative
* Keep hands and feet to yourself
* Allow others to join in your games
* Play fairly and safely
* Play with acceptable toys and equipment
* Respect school property

Remember to: THINK before speaking— Is it Thoughtful, Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary, Kind?
Appropriate Dress: Cold weather
The days are getting colder and pretty soon winter will arrive. It is important for students to come prepared to participate in all activities, including outdoor recess. We ask that students dress appropriately for colder weather by having coats, hats, scarves, boots and mittens or gloves. For health reasons, and to keep the school clean, we ask all students to have indoor shoes. Please note that in the event of an emergency evacuation, students will not have the opportunity to put boots on. Thank you for your support in this matter.
Indoor/Outdoor Shoes
The students should have a pair of indoor shoes to wear at school in class and for gym. Outdoor shoes/ boots will be kept for outdoor use only and out of the classrooms in order to reduce the amount of dirt and mud brought indoors. This will assist our custodial staff in keeping the school clean and safe. Thank you for your co-operation.
Pizza Day
Pizza Day will continue to be offered every Monday and Friday for the school year 2025/26.
Orders are accepted via school cash online.

Dog-Free Zone
Please remember that St. Timothy is a dog-free zone. Please refrain from bringing your dog onto school property when you are picking up or dropping off children. Although we love to see your furry friends, please remember that many students are afraid of dogs and seeing them on the school yard will pose unnecessary anxiety and uncertainty for students.
Thrive in Community - November 2025
Peel Public Health
Mental Well-Being Matters: Fostering Healthy Digital Habits
Spending too much time on screens can make children feel moody, distracted, and stressed. We recommend having screen-free times throughout the day – like before bedtime and when eating with family. Doing fun things like playing outside or doing crafts can help children relax and feel better. Parents can help by modeling healthy habits and setting rules for screen time use.
This month, take a look at the SickKids resource called Setting limits and staying safe with screen time. Read it with your child(ren) and talk about ways your family can use screens in a healthier way.
Did you know? Peel Public Health provides free dental services for eligible children 17 years of age and younger:
- Dental screening
- Preventive dental services (e.g., teeth cleaning, professionally applied topical fluoride, dental sealants)

National Addictions Awareness Week (NAAW) is November 16-22, 2025. This is a time for us to learn more about substance-use disorders and how we can support youth who use substances. While substance use among youth may not always meet the clinical criteria for a substance use disorder, it can still carry significant risks. Addressing early use is important to reduce potential harms and to support youth in making informed, healthier choices. Peel Public Health recommends the below resources for parents talking to their children about substances: This year’s theme for NAAW is “Anchoring Hope”. Hope means believing that positive change is possible. By talking and learning about substance use and health, we can strengthen our connections and grow together.
