Henry Happenings

February 8, 2026
Principal Message
Dear Henry Families,
This time of year can be challenging for schools. We are in the season of already looking to the future and making plans for the next school year, while staying focused on our current reality and continuing work toward our goals. A big piece of our work for student success in school is ensuring our students feel a sense of belonging. If you were unable to make it to Parkway's State of the District event last Wednesday night, I would like to share a highlight from one of the presentations.
Belonging is created when individuals are treated with dignity - seen, heard, and valued without having to sacrifice their identity.
-Cobb & Krownapple

This is where you will be able to view and record their progress. We have chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills. It has also been able to help us raise funds to purchase classroom furniture the last three years! We hope EVERYONE participates.
Henry Harmonizer's Ambush Game- New Game Date
NEW AMBUSH GAME DATE - March 1, 2026!
(Henry ticket link closes on 2/16/26)
Information:
The Henry Harmonizers’ “God Bless America” performance has been moved to March 1, 2026 (1:50 performance time). This is an optional opportunity, but it is always a fun, memorable event! ALL of our Henry families & staff are invited.
THE BEST NEWS - If you purchased tickets for the original game day, 1/24, those tickets will be transferred to this new game date - no need to purchase new tickets! Our updated tickets will be sent out the same way - to the email/number with which you purchased the originals. The updated tickets will be sent the week before March 1.
TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL TICKETS - Tickets are $25 per person. All people attending need a ticket, except those under the age of 2. 26-3-01 Henry Harmonizers - St. Louis Ambush
Tasks:
I have a Henry family that is unable to attend the new date - reach out to Mrs. Plesia if you are interested in having those 2 tickets transferred to you, and I will connect you with that family.
If you are interested in carpooling (to save on the $15/car parking fee), consider talking with other families (or other Henry families that might consider attending).
Please DO send me a quick email to let me know you are coming (after you place your order)! The arena only lets me know the number of tickets sold, but I will not have access to names.

Remember - this Purchase Link is open until 2/16/26 (same link as last time, only updated):

STEAM Night at MADE for Kids
Culver's Restuarant Night 2/23
Culver’s Restaurant Night is on 2/23 from 5-8pm
Location:
- Culver’s of Manchester
- 14444 Manchester Road, 63011
Culver’s will donate 10% of sales from the evening to Henry Elementary PTO. No code needed.
Culver’s Restaurant Night Volunteers
We have a Culver's "Share Night" (restaurant night) on Monday, February 23rd. As part of Culver's “Share Night,” they require that we have 1 adult volunteer and 4 youth volunteers per hour for the duration of the event (or we could have 2 adults and 3 youth or 3 adults and 2 youth or 4 adults). As a volunteer, you will receive a Culver's apron and nametag, and then be responsible for delivering food to customers. (You will wash your hands and will need to continue to wash hands during your shift.) We recommend the youth volunteers be in grades 2-5 as they will be walking outside to deliver food to customers and will need to be able to find the correct car and number. If you have a student who is younger and wants to sign up, you can do that but you need to plan to stay and assist the student as well (even if the 1 adult volunteer is signed up for the hour). **PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT IF YOU SIGN UP THAT YOU KNOW FOR CERTAINTY YOU CAN ATTEND. Culver's is counting on the volunteers and it will be difficult to replace on short notice.** Please sign up on the link below. Signups are on a first come, first serve basis.

Staff Bulldog Brag
Did you know that families can recognize staff members with Bulldog Brags, just like we do for students? If you or your child notice a staff member demonstrating one of our Henry Core Values—Kind, Responsible, Persevere, or Inclusive—we invite you to share it using the button below.
Each staff member who receives a Bulldog Brag will be honored with a certificate and a special surprise. As part of our character education, it is important for students to see adults modeling these values every day—and to hear real examples of what they look like in action!
