PE with Coach Weir
On February 12th, our school will be hosting a school-wide Kids Heart Challenge/Jump Rope for Heart event! Over the past few weeks, students have been learning about how to keep their heart healthy while taking part in fun, cardio-based jumping activities. They have also been raising money for the American Heart Association to help support children with special hearts.
During the event, each grade level will head outside to show off their jump-roping skills, both on their own and with classmates. Our jump rope unit will wrap up the week of February 9th.
The week of March 9th, we鈥檒l kick off our dance unit, which will end with a school-wide dance-a-thon on March 13! Glow sticks will be available for purchase for $1 starting March 9th. Please note that outside glow sticks will not be allowed.
馃挋 Together, we can build a future full of 鉂わ笍 heart health, 馃挵 funding for research, and 馃専 hope for families everywhere!
When you support Kids Heart Challenge, you鈥檙e helping students learn healthy habits while making a real difference in our communities.
Music with Mrs. McLellan
Hi Conlee Family! Your musicians have been doing an excellent job this year! So far, we have been focusing on steady beat, how to sing, and read music through dancing, folk songs, and much more. Here is what we can look forward to for the remainder of the year.
5th grade has been working extremely hard learning their recorder. We have been learning Recorder Karte and earning belts by mastering different songs. Recorders will be stored in the music classroom until the end of the school year.
4th grade has been exploring how to compose/ create their own music on Ukulele. They will be learning how to read music notes and start preparing for their 5th grade curriculum.
2nd grade through 3rd grade will continue to learn about music around the world through singing, playing Orff instruments, and through the history of composers. They will be having upcoming concerts in February. You will be receiving a letter in their backpack containing all the details pertaining to these events.
1st grade and kinder will continue to learn about steady beat, note values, and rhythms through Orff and percussion instruments.
Thank you for your continuous support!

Library with Ms. Wood
Welcome to Conlee library!
My name is Ms. Wood and I am the librarian. I hope to make the library one of the favorite places for students to visit. There are so many wonderful books in our library just waiting to be discovered!
Some helpful Library Information
Students have book check out every week. Please ask your child when their library check out day is. Books need to be returned or renewed weekly.
Students are working toward earning an Inchy coin for the book vending machine by reading at home and turning in their reading logs to their teacher. We go to the vending machine to redeem the coin they earned for their free book monthly.
The Conlee library has ebooks available for students to read. The ebooks are available after school hours, so students are able to use them at home. Please see the tutorial on how to access them below.
If your child has a library fine, you can take care of that on School Pay via Parent Vue. There is a tutorial on finding School Pay below.
Happy Reading!

SEL with Mrs. Wylie
Hello Amazing Conlee Colts. My name is Barbie Wylie, Conlee Elementary's newest social worker and your go-to expert in turning school-day stress into success! With a name that sounds like I should come with a Dreamhouse and a convertible, this Barbie instead rolls up in crazy clothes, a clinical license, a calm demeanor, and a heart full of dedications. I bring years of experience form private practice, state government, and public schools- so whether it's a meltdown, a mix-up, or a mystery, I'm her to help solve it, and probably have a color-coded chart for it. I'm her to champion our students' social, emotional, and academic journeys- because at Conlee, we don't just grow minds, we nurture hearts too!
