Parent Teacher Conferences

Quick reminder that parent teacher conferences are this week! We are excited to have you join us to talk about your awesome kids!

Please remember Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are EARLY OUT at 1:30pm.

We will have some additional things going on in the building during conferences including Boo to the Flu which will be held on the stage from 2:00-6:00pm both Wednesday and Thursday. Not only is it a great opportunity to get your shot for the year, but the school receives $2.00 for each flu shot given, so feel free to bring the whole family and support Mountain View!

Bus Behavior

We have had a large number of bus behavior reports over the past two weeks, and we need your help. Last year, Mrs. Vincent and Mrs. Malan had to ride the bus the last couple months of school because behaviors were so bad, and we've already had a bus supervisor out to drive one of our buses this year because they can't get drivers to take our routes.

The behaviors we see most are inappropriate language, students not staying seated, disrespect to the drivers, and physical aggression between students. All of our buses have both video and audio recording with 4-5 different cameras throughout the vehicle.

We need all of our bus riders to feel safe. Students who receive a write up from a driver will be given a warning that will include a conference with admin, an email to parents, and documentation in the student information system. A second incident will result in a 2 to 5 day bus suspension followed by additional consequences for future incidents.

Please talk with your students about appropriate bus behaviors and explain potential consequences should we continue to see these types of incidents. Your help is vital in making sure our students can ride the bus safely.

Championship Martial Arts

Championship Martial Arts will be at the school this week. They offer students four 30-minute martial arts sessions for $25. They work really well with the kids and it is fun for all ages. They give all proceeds to the school, and it isn't too late to sign up, but the first day is tomorrow, so don't delay. You can sign up in myDSD or return the following form to the office.
